Brilliant band, a sort of bridge between grunge and nu metal. The debut album was something, but the critics got at them and spoiled it all

@@DemocracyManifest Except for maybe Spawn Again although more like Tool. It’s a shame Daniel deleted a whole album that was heavier than the others before making Diorama. I liked most songs on it but imagine a silverchair album heavier than Frogstomp and Freakshow!

Seriously? The “nickelback of their time”? You don’t have to like them, but jesús marimba, they are nothing like nickelback. They wrote interesting songs and drew influences from multiple pools of music styles, and their lyrics weren’t shit. Nickelback is a joke, and a one trick pony. Silverchair wasn’t that at all.

Take the time to listen to them, take the time to appreciate them and you'll realise they are really underrated. Daniel Johns is an incredible musician, his side project "The Dissociatives" was very creative too. I don't know a lot of things about Nickelback but I don't think they really evolved the same way Silverchair did
