Always manually ground balance. I keep mine on park 2 multi, iron bias 2, recovery speed 5, 5 tones, 25 volume no other tweaks needed. Pumping the coil over targets and if it's super jumpy it's probably garbage, also if you get a solid number, switch to 10khz and if it jumps all around usually higher numbers it's always aluminum junk.

I am going to set this up and see if it works for me. I have been going over some slammed locations. Trying to adjust my 800.. I will try this out and see if I can make it work..

Hey Blue Grass.. I've made some updates to my coin shooting program since posting this video. The newer version seems to work much better for me. You can find it here: metaldetectingforum.com/showthread.php?t=259484 Thanks for watching and HH! Dewayne

Metal Detecting NWGA will check it out as soon as I get to the house and able to set up the nox.. I’m going to run it in my front yard. I found my first SLQ with my atpro. Now I am learning the nox and any tips that can give me an edge is great.. this should be fun..

nice work! go's to show a different machine will pick some more targets in a slammed site! I wouldn't know all I use is the duce but am seriously considering the nox for a second machine especially for the beach! I was curious what's the most recent silver you have pulled out of there? curious as to about when it was buried. best of luck cheers Nathan
@MetalDetectingNWGA6 жыл бұрын
Hey Nathan! Yeah I think you could probably still find stuff in hammered areas no matter which machine you're using. Just too many variables such as angle of approach, settings, disc, ground moisture, etc. Definitely something special going on with the Nox's Multi-IQ though. Take a look at the last couple of videos from Calabash Digger.. He explains it pretty well. All coins from the Honey Hole are pre-1920. I think the newest one was 1919 and the newer ones have very little wear, so had to be buried around that time. Thanks for stopping by man! HH Dewayne

Like how you clean the coins carefully instead of scrubbing the dirt and the value off with your thumb and give the Mint mark.
@MetalDetectingNWGA6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Robert, but if you watch my other vids you'll see that I'm guilty of rubbing some coins. Especially the ones that are caked in thick GA clay.. A water bottle just doesn't work very well for field cleaning those. They would have to be soaked for a while. Sometimes I just get frustrated and rub them so that I can show my viewers the coin live. I do need to be more careful or else one of these days I'll scratch up a super rare coin and regret it! Thanks for watching and HH. Dewayne

Just picked up my 800 today. I got the detectorist bug a few months back with a Whites Treasure Pro. I am hoping the 800 will help me pull less trash.

@hightwelve99914 жыл бұрын
@@Sweetness_-ce8uo I just run it on park 1. But, make sure you have the most current update because there is a setting F6 (I forget what it's called) that does a great job filtering out bottle caps.

So with the 600 You can not adjust tone breaks or tone pitch? Have You tried the small coil as that looks to be the ticket in High trash?
@MetalDetectingNWGA5 жыл бұрын
Hey Johnny. I don't own a 600 but from what I understand those adjustments aren't available. I do have the small coil. I have a comparison video posted here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jKdjlslk1reqYmg.html

Have you updated your coin program now that ver 3 is out. I tried using your updated settings from the forum but numbers seem different now.
@MetalDetectingNWGA3 жыл бұрын
Sheriff3466 the settings I’m currently using for coins are: Park 2, multi, 5 tones, low tone on 11-13, mid tone on 17-22, high tone on 23+, zero discrimination, 14-16 and everything below 11 is muted, iron bias set at 1, recovery set according to site (usually at 5 or 6). I am running the latest version of software. Happy Hunting!

I run with no discrimination except I notched out 40 for falsing. Recovery Speed 8 Iron Bias 0 5 tone Bin 1 is -10 to 0 Volume at 0 Bin 2 is 1 to 11 Volume on 0 Bin 3 is 12 to 13 Volume on 25 Tone on 25 Bin 4 is 14 to 18 Volume on 0 Bin 5 is 19 to 40 Volume on 25 Tone on 25 This works like having discrimination but actually better for unmasking. Trash sound sketchy and broken except beavertails, they sound strong like nickels. Since no discrimination, tones sound better and a little longer. Just one high tone for coins and they hit solid with good quality tone. This works great in trashy areas as it is easy to hear coins and easy to identify trash. (except beavertails) Instead of using disc, try muting the bins you don't want to hear and see if you like it better.
@MetalDetectingNWGA6 жыл бұрын
halfstep67 That’s actually how I run my coin program now (muted bins & no disc). I agree it seems to work better than using disc. I’m Rattlehead on the forum BTW.. We were talking about this in a thread recently. :)

Small world. I enjoy your vids. I found a near new old timer pocket knife a couple days ago with the equinox 800 at a deer hunter's campsite. Must have been lost by the recent turkey hunters. It was on top the ground. Never know what you will find.
@MetalDetectingNWGA6 жыл бұрын
That’s pretty awesome! I never get that lucky when it comes to pocket knives. All of the ones I find have been in the ground for a while and rusted together. I did find a freshly dropped leatherman once which was still in good condition. Thanks for watching bud! HH Dewayne

What is the maximum depth of the Equinox 800
@MetalDetectingNWGA Жыл бұрын
In my soil I've dug coins at 10" with the Nox and 11" coil. I've dug coins at that same depth with the Deus and 9" coil. Just requires slowing down the reactivity/recovery speed and cranking up the sensitivity as high as the site allows.
