Miss mine pretty bad. Problem was I couldn't gig with it cuz it wasn't loud enough but it was way too loud for apartment practice to get "that sound". I just settled for a JHS Twin Twelve which is pretty close - and that's good enough! Great video!

I bought one of these at a consignment shop in 1992 for $20 I immediately blew the output transformer put it in my parents's attic. Got it back about 5 years ago. Recently I found an all original cab so I replaced the output transformer while in there I noticed that channel one had no Connection to the board just empty input jacks. So I moved one from channel 2 over. Then on input 2 of both channels I installed A56K metal film resistor. I like that sound better than the 67K carbon. Try it out if you like to tinker

The filter choke looks overheated and discolored. They are indeed known to fail, although you can get suitable replacements. I'm told that the biasing from the factory on these tends to be a little too hot and they could use modification to the negative voltage circuit to cool off the output tubes a little bit so that they're not pulling so much current through the choke.

Love me some Silvertones.. I totally restored a basket case 1482, but would love to track down a 1474 someday (a combo version of the 1484). A tip for ya: Hit that front panel up with some Nevr-Dull and she'll shine up real nice, almost to a mirror finish if you want. 😎
