It seems that rennsport investors (porsche) like to spend the money on championships For 4 players and not receiving benefits. Regarding rfactor 2 and lmu I would say that I wouldn't mind paying a subscription to play online. I really like driving in both simulators as long as they expand their catalog of weekly races in both games

Race control is the only reason I play rf2 and lmu. If it goes subscription multiplayer on top of buying cars and tracks.... Nope

@@jamesbryant8133 To be fair to MSG, RaceControl as it is now was always promoted as a beta that was free "for now". But I understand, as it would become something like am iRacing clone, right?

Thanks for the news! LMU screwes over all Early Access buyers, promising to finish the game for that price. But noooo, before it is even out of early access the are going to charge money for dlc, that should be in the game when the game goes gold. And noooo, you cannot get a refund from Steam for this early access, that actually is a Demo is this state and the way they go forward with this, because they only shared this info way after we bought the EA, and needed wayyyyy more then the 2 hours playtime that steam gives you before to refund, to get the game going. I was at the WEC in Spa this weekend, where they had a big stand, talked about these issues and strategy, and the guys working the stand said even they felt ashamed by MSG!

I'm not a fan of online racing, but even I know it is the lifeblood of serious sim racing.

I know i would never pay for a set-up in a game i just play for fun, its not that serious.

Why would someone who already owns all the iRacing software and has years of experience with iRacing use anything else sim-wise.??? IRacing is pretty solid and it is hard for me at least to jump from one sim to another all with different physics not to mention the cost of buying all the software+tracks??

Because it’s much better and I can afford to. And there are many sim racers out there not playing iracing who are playing LMU.

It's their business model. Correct if I'm wrong but you can't actually own any of your content in iRacing you have to pay every month or you lose access. If they had a business model where you could still access all of you content offline racing against AI or a LAN setup and only subscribe if you want to race online, I would definitely be racing in iRacing.

MSG needs to fail and give a good developer a chance at the licences. LMU is just RF2 with a shiny new face. Exact same game underneath with the same crappy online features that don't work and isn't very stable. Every sim racer has been done wrong by MSG in the past. We should collectively let them die. Indycar game gone after supposedly almost being completed, the nascar game fiasco, the half assed btcc content. It goes on and on. Now they want to make multiplayer a subscription? Nope. Not for me. Why would I pay for something that is free in all other games aside from Iracing? There isn't any value there

An important question is: Would any knowledgeable investor pay money for the code in rF2 and LMU? I certainly would not. I'd rather poach the S397 developers and build a completely new sim with a completely new studio. Not that the world needs a new, new sim, as there are new sims being worked upon already, but you know what I mean. There is a point in software development where you don't try to untangle the legacy code anymore and just write the code anew, because you'll finish faster, the code will be faster and it will be cleaner, while doing the same thing. I think rF2's and LMU's code has reached that point. But I haven't seen the code and can't tell if that's right. It's just my gut feeling, based on decades of experience in software development.
