Yup. Honestly for as much as people call Baki a "martial art" anime...it's nowhere on the same level as Kengan. This show has so much fighting spirit that it'd make a nun slug a baby out of sheer testosterone. And yeah, while the martial arts on display are anime-fied, they're all also very real. So with a little common sense, anyone who is into martial arts, fighting, or even fighting GAMES can learn a lot from the little moments in this show. "Don't you know a fighter is at their most vulnerable when they move in to attack?!" Even the concepts of blink and zone are real, just exaggerated for the sake of anime. It's just so damn good. Can't wait for the second half of season 2 this year. Damn show was so good it got me back into practicing myself 😅

This is so amazing! Kengan Ashura is such an underrated series that deserves to be well known. Hopefully it becomes popular like Baki. And I hope the author will consider about selling his manga to the western continent, I really wanna collect them all!

Love the franchise tbh, there were times I felt uncomfortable but the plot and characters kept me hooked! Gaolang Wongsawat is my absolute fave, I'm currently on Vol.7 of the manga.

Volumes 1-10 are up now digitally at least. If I'm buying physical it's got to be the Japanese original, even if I, er, can't read it 100%. But the inside cover art (that you DON'T get digitally or pirated) makes it all worth it!

Jun vs Sen would have been the sickest battle. A wrestler who takes every attack with sheer pride and willpower against insane counters with bone shattering grabs. Kengan really needa it's own style of fighting game. I know a lot of people compare it to Tekken, but I feel like Tekken is too slow for Kengans fighters. Like Kaolan and his flash technique would either be ungodly broken or nerfed into a crappy 1,1,1,1,2 string that would only be good for counters. Kengan would have to create a system to fit. Something between Tekken and Ninja storm. Almost more like Urban Reign, or maybe have a system like YYHTDT for the PS2?
