My cousin and uncle, loved how they’re rocking same fits.
I dance jingle, but nothing compares to watching smoke dancers. I wish I knew more about it. I've seen the smoke dance performed once, at the labor day powwow in my town. The man danced a few songs, so everyone could watch, then invited everyone to come in the circle and try it out. It was really fun. You just can't feel unhappy when it's performed. The music, the dance, it's all got such an awesome vibe. :)

When we were growing up, they never had powwows at Oneida in NY or Wisc. We use to go dance at their powwows when they began having them. They danced in the Longhouse, seasonal ceremonies. Had to be invted to attend.
@LydzFHP2 жыл бұрын
The powwow in Oneida WI is going on 50 years and never really included Iroquois song or dances until the past 15 years or so. But I agree I grew up hearing these songs in a longhouse. It doesn't sound same as it does dancing on the ground all that stomping in the longhouse makes the floor shake!

The dancer at 4:15 in with burgundy and white under skirt's turns are gorgeous. Her foot work is awesome, she is hitting each beat heel and toe. Absolutely awesome

@oneidawolf7766 жыл бұрын
In our ways we are told they are all dancing for you and everyone else, to heal people and everything in this world and give thanks to it. How could that be bad. Everyone who sings and dances is doing good for everyone and everythin.
@marshamoore83854 жыл бұрын
@@oneidawolf776 I think what was meant in this case, bad is good! The man spoken of in green was very good.
