@@affordablex4914 The X means the year you are playing in, if you played during 2017 and it says 201X and since frisk is you and frisk can be your age, your gender your whatever, it means that you fell in the mountain during 2017 if you played during 2017, or atleast that's what I think.

You forgot lucas and frisk both use sticks as a weapon Edit: For anyone who read this incorrectly, I was referring to Frisk using a Stick at the beginning of the game and the relation of the fact that Lucas also uses a stick as his main weapon. Not very related I know, I wrote this 3 years ago :|

Personally, I find that do be completely vague. Lucas is the soft one and Claus is the tough one, same for Asriel and Chara respectively. That’s literally all they have in common.

I think the detail of changing the dialogue after the game "ends" adds so much depth and thought to the universe. It makes you feel these people are actually real, compared to rpgs where the dialogue is unchanging.

I don't know if somebody already said it, but you know Sans' signature dialogue with the beautiful day outside? That is very similar to something a policeman said very early in the game. I think it starts similar with both mentioning the beautiful day outside. What I do remember more clearly is that it ends like this: "...at times like this, kids like you, should be playing Nintendo games."

well it could be funny unless you were frisk imagine being in front of a monster which is like 10 or even more times bigger than you and is trying to kill you and you are alone with no body who can help you and you hear that laugh (which must be very loud too) and also you are stuck trying to fight it without stopping if the souls were on flowey's side frisk would have no chance against it giygias is also TERRIFYING but at least there you aren't alone

spaghetti Gyigas you're basically fighting something that is hurt, you don't want to harm him but you have to beat him to save the universe and also there is no way you can harm him and the only way to beat him is with the prayer of Paula (wich are basically pure energy) without her the universe is doomed, also giygas is not just a monster IT'S A WHOLE BACKGROUND it means you can walk for hours and hours and you won't find en exit and you can see that he is hurt about what he is saying like (it hurts....it hurts) imagine fighting THIS and hearing this constently even if you were a team you would be scared to death.....

Mother 3 is way more emotional than Undertale tbh. The story about the second boss (Mecha-Drago) already is way better than the story about Asriel, which is the only kinda emotional thing in Undertale.

No offense but the Mettaton being a reference to the Frankystein Mark II point is weak because there are many games that have robots in them. Mettaton is also humanoid and doesn't look anything like Frankystein Mark II, which most resembles a tank or something. Mt. Ebott is more likely a Mt. Itoi reference imo rather than to "Onett" considering Mt. Itoi is a reference to the creator of the Mother series, Shigesato Itoi, and Ebott is ttobe backwards which sounds like Toby as in Toby Fox, and Mt. Itoi is also a mountain.

i dont really like the asriel fight. unlike claus, asriel didnt really get any character development in game. and i cant get emotional in the fight because i dont really know asriel, the whole fight for me just feels like asriel throwing a tantrum. claus had some development, and killing himself so he can be with his mother actually made me cry when i fought him, and it was also sad to me that he didnt want to do any of the things he did because he was brainwashed. claus had a strong motive yet no motive at all. but asriel didnt really have a good motive, again it just felt like him throwing a tantrum.

@@LesbiansMarie id say almost none of the proof is valid, he bases the land of undertale to mother 1, which does not take place in the same place as mother 2, bones are organic materials, starmen are part robotic or dont have a skelton, ness is a pacifist while sans wouldve killed you on the spot if not for hos promise, their skulls arent even the same shape, etc.

but amalgam also has instruments from Giygas' Lair, The bass instrument used in Onett, The Cliff That Time Forgot, Kraken of the Sea, and Giygas' Intimidation. Other percussion samples may also come from Earthbound but not sure about exact sources. Boris Cocktail also has instruments from Ghost fight. Giegue made Chara a tad scarier for me. Interesting Stuff though. Edit: Time stamps for no reason- 2:08 - 3:18 - 3:48

im late by 5 years but i just got to the point where it says "The amalgamates' theme was made using instruments from the EarthBound song "The Place" thats only once. and then you pointed out about the venus thing. if you were to list everything, the video length would have doubled. megalovania uses an earthbound guitar, the whole of ghost fight is made using earthbound sounds, along with atleast half of dummy, and way more i cba to list right now. just thought i should say

My reaction to the thumbnail: Okay, I agree that Giygas is creepy, especially in the second form. However, Omega Flowey: Weird, yes. A bit disturbing at first sight, maybe. In need of some mental help, probably. But creepy, no. Also, he's the neutral route's final boss, not THE final boss of UnderTale. Oh, and on the subject of Giygas, notice the resemblance between Giygas and MemoryHead from the True Lab.

Anticipation/In My Way/No Mercy was not based off of Mt. Itoi/Holy Loly Mountain at all. Anticipation/In My Way/No Mercy is Flowey's theme slowed down, and there's no way Toby Fox actually went into the effort of doing it like that

here are some others: most if not all undertale songs have some sampling from earthbound megalovania is similar to the music played just before fighting giygas (i think his name is porky?) the ambience/music played in alphys' lab also has some similarities with the room ambience played just before righting giygas, again the tiles in the room *ALSO JUST BEFORE FIGHTING GIYGAS* look somewhat like a recoloured version of the barriers in the CORE from undertale

I know one. In Mother 3 while naming the characters. At some point Lucas will run to the left going off the screen but while he's running he trips and falls. I doubt it but maybe that's what Toby based Monster kid tripping upon exiting the screen (If someone already commented on this, my bad)

Earthbound is a traditional RPG. Undertale flips the idea of a traditional RPG on it's head. Inspired by doesn't mean copied. That's like saying Star Wars is a clone of Star Trek, when they have obvious differences.

Actually, according to Toby, studies show that you can get more attracted to less detailed pixelated graphic characters than over the top realistic graphics. It's weird, but hey there was Thomas Was Alone and that only featured rectangles
