What makes Simon and Garfunkel so unique is the simplicity of their voices together each complimenting one another. Not too many duos survived as they did and their music will never die.

No one denies Simon genius and Art's voice. He was just saying they were influenced by Everly Bros just as Beatles were influenced by Elvis and the R&B records that kids passed around in Liverpool in 50s since BBC wasn't playing such things on airwaves.

What's funny (in a sad way) is that The Everly Brothers, who were among S&G's big influences, had not spoken to each other in almost eight years when this concert happened. They would remained estranged for another two years, and the same year they finally got back together (1983) was when Simon and Garfunkel would have another falling out after a tense-filled concert tour and when Paul decided to take Art's vocals off what would end up as Hearts & Bones.
