Put in the equal ffp restriction. Make all clubs maintain stability, that's the basic and a must. But on top of that put a max transfer budget for all clubs. 1st to 20th.. Put in a max 3 year spend aswell.. The clubs from the top to the bottom can spend the same... If you don't have it, then the club needs to invest to improve revenue to compete but it makes it obtainable. But it's got to be from uefa. Has to be international otherwise it is suicide for whatever league implements it. But if all leagues do it, it's perfect. Then it becomes only about the football, a fair playing field for all teams. Whether that means top clubs get relegated or not. New top clubs will form. That's what the fans have always wanted. But it's not what the broadcasters want.

I follow motorsports, and I have to say, it's better organised. If a team suddenly starts to run away with it, they will allow other teams more engines, tyres and time to test, in order to catch up. Why can't we do something in football where teams coming up get extra money from the top 4 sides or the PL? Just like 10/15 mill? There's so many ways you could even things out a touch. So many ideas. We just don't do this in football.
@doubled1978

I am also a big motorsport follower, in F1 they also now have a system in place where all the teams have the same OP-EX limit (budget cap) which is low enough for all the teams to be able to reach it. Now it is down to the bigger teams to do a better job rather than simply outspend their competition. The effects of this are just starting to be seen a few years after they introduced it, with Mclaren now able to compete as they have good people and can spend as much developing their car as the likes of Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull. They previously had a decent budget, but nothing like what those 3 teams had. In addition to that, F1 teams are now profitable enterprises because they can’t spend themselves into oblivion. It can be done if football has the will to do it, but I doubt they will. As for safe guarding teams from rogue owners sending them to the wall, it’s simple, new owners should be made to put up a very large bond that is held until they sell the club or to be used if the club falls into financial difficulties. At least then you would ensure that new owners have the wherewithal to do it.

The biggest predictor of who wins the league in every division in the world is the wage bill. Psr should be geared towards insurance if an owner fucks off and leaves the club in the lurch. I don’t know how but someone more financially minded could have good ideas. Until then even if smaller clubs get rich owners who want to push them on it will never happen. The rules are not fit for purpose look at forest punished for being £20 million better off on the Johnson deal in the name of sustainability it’s stupid. And it just protects the current establishment teams. If the owner has the money let them spend it. The big teams only have this advantage because they’re the big teams when these rules are introduced. In twenty years forest or Newcastle palace etc could be selling ten million shirts in Asia if they’ve been league contenders and playing in the champions league for ten years by then. Also these rules treat players like meat. You have to go to this club you don’t want to where you might not play because we have to comply with a nonsense rule to make sure the smaller teams can’t compete

The Toon & Villa will never be able to challenge the usual top 6 if these PSR laws remain. UEFA's PSR laws aren't that much better - they would still favour the top 6 with the largest revenues.

Crook misrepresenting some facts here. Newcastle offered boyhood Liverpool fan Anthony Gordon to Liverpool in a deal which would include Jarell Quansah leaving Liverpool and going to Newcastle. Liverpool rejected the deal, not wanting to part with Quansah. After that, any potential deal fell through.

It's a total fiction that these rules were brought in only to help the top clubs stay there. It was voted on and agreed by 14 members of the league, so, at a minimum, 8 other teams not in the traditional Big 6, but likely more. Fact is, the Brentfords and Brightons have even mote interest in restraining certain upstart clubs with new, rich owners like Villa and Newcastle, but fans of these clubs and others are running around saying there's a small cartel at the top keeping them down. Nonsense. PSR is an imperfect way of correcting a major mistake from years ago, which was state ownership of clubs.

Just because those other clubs were stupid doesn't change the fact that's exactly the purpose of FFP and PSR. The other teams bought into it because of racism. They were sold a bill of goods that this will stop the scary arabs. they were too focused on Arabs and not how it effects them.

Generally agree with most of your premise,but 'upstart clubs' like Villa and Newcastle have always been historically bigger,wealthier and more successful than 'minnow teams' like Brighton and Brentford,even before the flood of new money into AVFC and NUFC.🙄
