Good video! I appreciate you laying out your average distances before the throws. Really helps us amateur throwers gauge how we would be doing as well. Keep it up!

this is exactly what I’ve been looking for it’s really hard to understand if a disc could be good for you when you’re watching guys review a disc when they’ve been playing for 10+ years.

I think you and I are very similar when it comes to backhand arm speed based on how far you said you throw. I personally think the destroyer is a far better option for someone with our speed in particular. It holds a line better and therefore, you can get better distance. My only problem with the star destroyer in particular is if you throw it hard on anhyzer, it wont always fight out if you want it to. It’s not flippy but it has much more glide. With that said, if you are throwing 450-500 consistently, I can definitely understand if you prefer the time lapse instead. It’s more over stable than a cloud breaker but it’s probably workable.

i agree! i actually bag a flippy destroyer for those reasons

Since you seem to be stuck in the usual trope that all newer disc golf youtubers have I'm gonna help. 1 don't claim rating or distance, because in Michigan it might be just as easy to get 920 as it is in north Dakota or it might be just as hard as it is in texas or north Carolina. You've probably heard brodie Smith talk about Japan's highest rated player coming to the US and getting stomped plus dropping over 100 rating points back to am level. 2 I see people get the most consistent throws if they take 10 minutes in an open field to test flight and compare. Having to hit specific lines just makes it harder. So you film 10 minutes before your round and then you can either double up on videos and shoot one during your round or you can just enjoy your round

i agree with the ratings mostly! especially for when you get over the 950 range. but i still like to add it in there for as much context as i can give about my disc golf game as well as with distance. i think a player who can throw a 500 foot golf shot would have a much different review then my 350 foot golf shot. And i love the field idea! i will have to do that for my next disc review! i appreciate the feedback

Nice video, but you should compare a new destroyer with a new time-lapse. Once they're "seasoned," it's no longer a comparison. From the looks of your destroyer, I would guess it would be one of my flippiest destroyers. I'd use it only for turnovers, hyzer flips, or tailwinds, but why are you making me guess at how your "seasoned" destroyer flies?
@acfrisbee6 ай бұрын
i promise it looked worse than it was lol. it was mostly just dirty. ideally tho i would love to have a brand new star destroyer to compare it to because it definitely effects the review. but i am working on a low budget haha and this was the best i could find before shooting. i will definitely take it into consideration if i do a comparison like this again tho!

I'd like to see how the time lapse throws after it's been beaten in. Does it get kinda flippy or is it gonna stay over stable?

that is interesting, i never thought about that. i dont have a lot of over mold discs but you would think it would stay pretty over stable? not sure

yes you might agree with my overall opinion of the disc for amateurs at the end of the video! (you should give it a watch, i heard it’s a great video lol) a lot of people are curious about buying this disc that throw similar distances to me so i was hoping to shed some light on how it might fly for them as well!
