She's determined but great? Not even close. Not by a very long margin does her style of play come anywhere close to the kind of variety of shots that a good player. However, she's relentless and that is her advantage.

The slow courts this year will hopefully help Halep against the power of Serena. Halep is such a fighter, and a great mover. If she can return Serena’s serve, and make her run around the court like this, she’ll probably win.

gabriel gervais there is no claiming to be done, halep is a pusher - either Serena wins or Serena chokes. Halep will not actually “earn” the win.

It will be only formality, it's like a man playing vs woman. I don't discredit Serena's skill, she's a great player, but she just simply overpowers almost every female player. I don't think Strycova is less skilled player than Serena, but she stood no chance against pure physical power.

Simona should be able to beat Williams. She is in far better physical condition (i.e., not overweight) and can run. As long as Halep can handle the serves by Williams, she should do well. That's pretty much all SW has in her bag of 'tricks' at this point.
