If you research Jonathan Owens, you will find out that he is an educated young man, who was an honor roll student and he graduated college with honors. You will also find out he is a millionaire at age 28 and he has not even peaked in his life as yet. You will find out that he is not a baby daddy and there are no scandals about him. That young man has his ish together. You all worry about the wrong people.

By he way, *Simone was the first to put it on social media that she slid in to Jonathan’s DM because she liked what she saw, so why are you or anyone else mad at him for saying the same thing? When he spoke about her driving 45 minutes to see him, it was because he was in camp and could not leave, so she drove. Athletes in camp are usually under strict rules and have curfews.* That was her decision and they are married. Lots of women are out there sliding in to men‘s DMs, being flown out and buss down and sent back home. Are you concerned about them?

Sherri, not knowing Simone Biles was not the issue. The issue was Jonathan Owens said he was "the catch" in the relationship. I don't watch gymnastics, but I know Simone Biles. Next Jonathan will say he doesn't watch tennis so he doesn't know The Williams Sisters either? Sherri don't help Jonathan. Let him take his own foot out his mouth.

Did he literally say that? Or you're interpretting his "I didnt know who she was" to mean that? If yes, I really dont think he said that to knock her down... Hes married to her. Why would he lie? Its obviously something he has said several times and its of no consequence to her or her talent and fame. Its clear to him now how much of an amazing athlete she is.

Simone Biles is the world’s most decorated gymnast of all time. She’s a global icon. There are some people that reach a level of fame that supersedes their sport. You don’t have to watch golf to know who Tiger Woods is. You don’t have to watch tennis to know Venus and Serena. You didn’t have to watch basketball to know who Michael Jordan was. To say he didn’t know who she was because he didn’t watch gymnastics minimizes the icon that she is. She was making headlines as everywhere, on Wheeties box, so many brand partnerships. Lastly he is a professional athlete. You cannot watch ESPN and not know who she was. Even LeBron called her the GOAT. Plain and simple, he lied. He knew exactly who she was.

I might be late to the party, but I’m extremely proud of and for Sherri. She deserved her own show a very long time ago. Many blessings to you❤️. That was the first thing I wanted to say, the next thing is. It wasn’t because he didn’t know Simone, it was because of what he said about himself being the catch. You just got married dude…what a terrible thing to say in my opinion. Even if he didn’t know his wife is the most worldwide known gymnast, you don’t say that about your bride. He should have kept that to himself.

Did you watch the whole podcast? Do you know the host, Ryan Clark, is a former football player and his main job is on ESPN every day? He has 2 ESPN shows. He does the podcast with friends for kicks. They don't generate income from that podcast, they have other jobs and money from being NFL players. Ryan Clark likes gymnastics, his daughter did gymnastics and he interviewed Simone's husband as the most relevant way of meeting Simone himself and interviewing her, which is why she was present. One of the podcasters even said he didn't want to talk about football, he just wanted to know "How in the hell did you pull Simone Biles?" They wanted to hear that story and then her husband began lying which (because you don't know Black people, especially men like to clown each other playfully for laughs) gave them an opening to make fun of the fact he was lying. When Ryan gave her husband many opportunities to say what a wonderful person Simone was and how lucky he was to have her, he just kept digging his own grave. The truth is, Simone's husband is not ready for the media attention he's getting for being her husband. They shouldn't put themselves out there, if they don't want reactions.

I found it strange that Ryan was covering his face when Simone’s husband was spouting off at the mouth about not knowing Simone before he met her. I did watch the entire podcast after I had seen the comments which had erupted into a firestorm late in December. I saw when Owen and Biles exchanged pleasantries later in the podcast. Obviously they get along well. She found it humorous. I cannot take it seriously, because she didn’t take it in that manner.

I believe, him, why would he lie, but to me it definitely says something about him, cause she is an internationally known athlete. I'm not into sports, nor have i have ever seen here compete, but i KNOW who she is. And I am in Europe. He might not have a broad interest and is perhaps only interested in what happens directly in his own world. And like Sherri said, it might have worked in their advantage without the awareness of her fame. p.s. i get what Simone was trying to imply when she said that one day she will be know as 'the wife of', but Simone, you made history, and you will never be know as just someone's wife (not saying that there is anything wrong with that). If he becomes a big star, you will both be legends, but that will never take away what you have accomplished.

He's obviously silly and immature as well as clueless to read that room. He thought he could make himself look better to what he perceived as peers. But, these are retired veterans that know his career is going nowhere and they know the value of his marriage to Simone, if nothing but to secure his financial future.

You can't expect to act like an ass and have people falling all over themselves to say how happy they are for you. In order to incur no controversy, he should have just said, "She's a great person. I fell in love with her. We are lucky to have each other." Point, blank, period. It's not hard.

It's really not an issue unless SIMONE BILES sees this as an issue. All these people out here giving their interpretations/opinions about what he said and what they think he knew and don't know him...or what his focus was on at the time when he met her. Many athletes are very focused on their own sport and their position within that sport ONLY, because you have to be when you want to achieve a high level within that sport. Having that mindset doesn't make you a narcissist. That DIAGNOSIS needs to be used less, especially if you are not a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist.

I believe him 100% and Simone obviously wouldnt have allowed it to be printed if she thought it was insulting. It seems that he says it as a "i didnt get with her because of her fame, i liked her bc of who she was as a person" type of cutesy first-meeting story. He probably gets asked about their meeting a million times. Why lie? However, i can see why others may feel hes saying that to say "Simone who?" Like, im not into swimming and I know who Michael Phelps is. I dont watch Tennis but I know Federer and Serena. I dont watch soccer but I know of Messi and Ronaldo. I dont watch football but I know who Tom Brady is. These are big names but to be fair, gymnastics is not something everyone in the world watches. I couldnt tell you anything about famous rhythmic gymnasts, figure skaters, karate, judo, etc.

That is a blatant lie. He made a comment about Gabby Douglas when he was 17 years old, an immature teenager. Simone was not known at that time and there is no evidence he commented about gymnastics after that time. He went on to be immersed in his own life with college, football etc. Jonathan was a consistent honor roll student, who graduated college with honors. He is a millionaire at age 28 and he is playing football. He is not a baby daddy and there are no scandals about him. *He is the catch* When Lori Harvey about the place talking about she is a prize, you are not mad but mad because a young man who has his ish together says he is the catch. Make it make sense.

Why is it so hard for your people to believe that not everyone is tuned in to Simone Biles? Golf is not the same as gymnastics, I don’t even know why you thought to compare the two.

Either way, Simone wasn't concerned about it and she decided to continue her relationship with him and ultimately they married so respectfully I don't understand why people claim to be bothered by that. They are HAPPY and MARRIED not dating so that issue appears to have been settled for them years ago. Nobody knows everyone no matter how popular they may be in the world because we all don't have the exact same experience nor exposure. You not knowing about him does not in any way determines whether or not he is the catch. You don’t diminish his worth or value. Simone’s accomplishments does not outweigh the value of her husband, Jonathan Owens. There are other guys who said they didn’t know about her until she started attending football. There are some who said, he could have done better and get a better looking woman. I am glad they shut out all of the noise and are married and living their lives to suit themselves.

That's my girl. Serena Williams is my favorite who I watched years, but simone is a new star and my second favorite ❤ . She became one of the hottest topic athletes in the summer Olympics in Rio, Brazil, 2016. She's a powerful and strong young woman who is known all over the world and all over the internet. I didn't know her man who he was before I read about him after he met simone.,but I knew simone. Lol. Gymnastics is a world sport, but American football is not.😂😂 Lol. I only pray that this man does not put her dawn like Wendy's husband and so many other men who treat our sisters so badly.... I would love to see Sumone in the 2024 summer Olympics in Paris strong as always. I hope she keeps her private life in private and focuses on her work.
