"Aeterna is the big, epic opener of the album and it comes with this amazing video too, directed by Patric Ullaeus. It definitely sounds the closest to Epica and Ayreon, blending powerful Latin lyrics with a touch of an oriental feel. We’ve tried to strike a balance between the mighty, bombastic sounds and the more atmospheric parts.Since it’s the first track people will hear from this album, it’s super important to us and we’re really excited for people to hear it!
Aeterna takes the point of view of a star about to go supernova to explore how everything in the universe is interconnected, like a cosmic web made from stardust. It deals our deep emotions, consciousness and other mysteries of life that science still can’t fully explain. Essentially it’s a reflection on our place in the vast universe and the connections that bind us together, as we’re all, to quote Carl Sagan, “made of starstuff."

@@Divide_et_lmpera Yes he did! He certainly is a genius. It's officially stated that is a mutual project of Arjen and Simone. And for the first time I can hear Simone's vocals flourish on another level, that's why composer's work it's extremely important! Btw, check out his other project with Dutch singer Anekke Van Giersbergen called: "The Gentle Storm" you will find similarities with this one.

OMFG this is way better than what I expected. At some moments, it sounds like those amazing Symphonic / "Gothic" Metal bands from the 90's, such as the golden days Tristania, The Sins Of Thy Beloved and Therion from Vovin era. What a blast!!! So proud of this goddess!!

@@Divide_et_lmpera it’s just a way of saying to emphasise how Arjen’s remarkable sound fits so well to Simone’s voice. I own the whole After Forever and Epica discography and listen to them since they both started releasing albums so there’s no need to take it so seriously!

I always thought Simone's solo album would be jazzy, but this, oh my god, is MAJESTIC. I can't imagine a better choice than having Simone team up with Maestro Arjen. It has fulfilled dreams that I didn't even know I had. She has crowned herself the queen of metal that she is. 👑🤘🏽🔥🖤

I have a glimmer of hope that could happen, I mean, it's the closest we Latin American fans will get to seeing an Ayreon show live. Which by the way is something I dream of seeing one day, I'm filling the piggy bank to make that happen.

I'll buy this album on vinyl. If I'll like it or not I don't know yet(I did like this one, but it sounds like its part of a longer story so I defer judgement until I have the entire album), but I'll support Simone making more solo stuff. I'd love to hear her explore a ton of genres, from acoustic to black metal! You rock Simone, my favourite singer for a decade now!
