Can it work plugged in to a charger connected to a wall socket? Basically extending its operational time.

It doesn't charge fast enough for that. It might work for low brightness levels, but not for max brightness.

See as box mentioned you need a 10watt adapter to charge it. But ironically its drawing 12watt from a 10watt adapter hence making the adapter go hot. So its needed 5v 3amp =15watt. See if you give 3amp it will draw the desired amount that is rated by the battery managent board. As it charge near fully it doesn't draw 1amp the current reduces to .1 or .01 hence. If you want to save your adapter give it more current but more voltage will be lethal and i won't recommend that.

I suggest to go with a replaceable battery version. All these integrated batteries will eventually die due to heat from the light.

Thanks for the suggestion. If I prefer the Simpex brand, which model is the best: one with USB & Type-C ports or one with Micro USB? Alternatively, do you know of any other brands that are best for occasional use?

If you're okay with replacing the battery yourself at some point, this one in the video works great. But, for sake of longevity, I now use wall powered ones. They last longer and and work longer too. Something like this from Digitek may be good - amzn.to/491h67W

Camcorder...Do you mean a digital camera for videos?😅 You can get very nice shots with just your phone which has an amazing mic (no, really!).🙂

A camcorder gives you decent zoom, but its pretty poor value in terms of image quality. I suggest you buy an entry level Digital SLR or mirrorless camera for videos. This one from Canon comes with a decent 55mm telephoto kit lens. amzn.to/35gJGTz

No, it doesn't support fast power delivery via the USB port to be used continuously with a power bank. It must be charged first.

How is after 2 years? Is the battery still holding up for lets say half an hour?

The battery has swollen due to heat. It is easy to replace if you have a spare battery and a soldering kit, but not without tools. 😅 I wouldn't recommend this for long hours of continuous use for videos. Photography use is perhaps fine, as it may not be as intense per session.

I need it for photography in dim environments like portraits in night. And if it's RGB then I can use it somewhere somehow for videos as well as some creative portraits.

Keep all the lights off complete dark room, not a tiny light should enter. Keep dslr setting Nikon Shutter speed 1/100 Aperture f6 ISO 200-1600 WB Auto EV to 0 D Light turn off Canon Shutter speed 1/120 Aperture f6 Aperture 200-100 WB Auto EV 0 Ei sabh setting kar key banao video tab patta lagey gaa... Chota packet mey kitna Mirch Dhania Paani Dudh Aur haldi hadi hai? Dekho bhaiyo aggar room kaa color dusra huya white chor k. Toe woh usshi spectrum koe absorb kareyga... Hence white room is required to test best performance.

I'm a self-taught videographer, so I found this adequate for almost all scenarios. I think they advertised 92 CRI, which is quite good.
