Which would prefer from a security standpoint given that all the basic hardening and security practices are used by a server admin to use OpenSuse Tubleweed or Fedora as a server distro.

Based on my experience OpenSuse is a little more stable but I would still recommend Fedora being that its closer to redhat. I also like the dnf package manager. It really come down to personal preference.

@@KeepItTechie So in terms of getting proper experience regarding server management and handling i should build my skills around using fedora? I wish to later utilise my skills in the industry if possible.

@@partha2806 You should definitely use Fedora, Rocky, or Alma. They are all based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. RHEL is the industry standard.

If you learn on any of those distros, you can get RHEL certified and can use it in the industry. Also all the cloud platforms created their own linux distros based on RHEL. ie Amazon Linux & I also heard Azure Linux.
