In this video, we'll make a simple tumbler using Crystalac's Brite Tone. Brite Tone is a High Solids, Waterbased Polyurethane that will build with less coats than traditional top coats. It self levels and leaves a super hard, Crystal Clear Top Coat Some links are affiliate links, there is no additional cost to you, but I earn a small commission
1. Prep your tumbler
a. sand with low grit sandpaper, wash with Dawn dish soap, dry, and wipe clean with alcohol
2. Paint
a. spray paint with whatever color you like. I used this: amzn.to/3C4lphR
3.Gas off
a. let sit in a dry, well ventilated area for 48 hours until it doesn't smell like spray paint
4. Apply one coat of Brite Tone amzn.to/3z4sw8m on a cup spinner, let spin 1 hour, let dry 3 additional hours
5. Apply stickers. You may print and cut your own on printable vinyl amzn.to/3k4Cp1B or use store bought ones
6. Apply 3 coats of Brite Tone, waiting 4 hours between each coat
7. Sand gently with a high grit sandpaper, concentrating on the stickers, but not so hard as to sand off the designs. amzn.to/3E9Oday
8. Wash with Dawn dish soap and dry well
9. Continue applying coats and sanding until smooth. I did a total of 6 coats
10. Let cure for at least 5 days before gentle use. Your tumbler will be fully cured after 30 days.
