Nice video Davis. I tried the same setup on bull shoals Sunday n Monday and couldn’t get a bite. Fishing was tough though. I’m gonna send you one of those viper reels you fish with. Bought it and don’t like it.

There is a process called "bleeding" the fish. You can make a cit underneath the "chin" of the fish. This will kill the fish, and make it easier to fillet the fish

I tried the slip bobber not too long ago with those yarn knots you can buy. I didn’t have any luck with the rig as my knot kept getting hung up in the eyelet at the end of the rod. And like you also mentioned it kept slipping on me. I would imagine that the rubber bobber stops you’re using would get hung up in the eyelet even worse. Do you have any suggestions? It’s been a while since I’ve had a good day fishing for anything I could sure use the help!

The rubber ones are HORRIBLE when it comes to going through the guides, use the string bobber stops….my advice is when you tighten it down, cinch the knot as tight as possible!! Also a big mistake people make is leaving too much of the tag ends of the string, that doesn’t help passing through the guides. You don’t want them any longer then 1/8th of an inch. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately with slip bobbers there isn't a perfect solution. I find the rubber bobber stops don't slide on the line as much as yarn, but the get caught in the reel more often when casting. It comes down to personal preference and if you cast a lot vs. Pitching the bobber near the boat.

I tried the main 3 types of bobber stops: rubber, string, and the little 3 hole dogbone types. Wasn't happy with any. Got a tip to use fly line backing. Started using it with just tying it on with a couple basic overhand knots. Works perfectly. Stays put always and goes through guides well most of the time.

Was that a slip bobber you had one, I'm trying to figure out how the bobber slips up to the rubber stop when the line appears to be cliped and held in place by the bobber spring??

Its a 3 in 1 bobber. If you thread your line thru the bobber it can be used as a slip bobber.

@@adamsmith3996 - Correct, it can be used as a slip bobber or a clip on.

The bobber has a couple notches in the stem. The top notch is for a fixed position where the spring pinches the line against the bobber stem. The second notch (lower on the stem) is cut so that the spring doesn't pinch the line and allows the bobber to slide up and down the line freely.

I get the yarn stops caught in the reel, will the rubber stops do better, I have never used them
