A 1940's damsel, absolutely. But from the memories of my grandpa who was born in 1914 and his buddies, the "average joe" was a little rough around the edges and masculine. "Unhand me" was a lot more formal than how men from that generation typically spoke. They went through the great depression and faught in WW2, their vocabularies were, shall we say... colorful. And anything but formal. Except Sundays.

@@glennrishton5679 They come into town from the woods to get supplies for the drug lab from time to time is all. Have to make stuff to sell back east to keep the rich folks partying and the poor folks addicted. The crazy just comes from the water for everyone in the Pacific North West since guns + weed + social programs + individual rights can't exist together according to the rest of the nations, yet Washington has all of them and even has a living minimum wage law. In a more serious note, Washington doesn't have homeless and drug addicts as bad as other parts of the country. It gets cold in the inter so unless you can be in the right spots, the weather can get to you, so the homeless in Seattle are more easily seen. The courts and legislature also keep cities from attacking them with their police departments and herding them into unsafe locations where large camps can form. It still happens, but it took COVID to trigger it. Unlike other, warmer parts of the country. California has a lot because they have a lot of people, really high cost of living in the cities, and warm weather year round. Add in a lot of sprawl so they can hide from police/social workers. Then there is the SE of the US. Warm weather, lots of poverty, and utterly no social programs to keep homeless people from being made and to get people out of being homeless. Tons of homeless and drug addicts in the SE. Florida packs in high property prices with drugs moving through it along with the special Florida Man crazy to really produce that mix of the drug addict homeless that makes the You Tube stereotype.

Then E.V.H. goes nuts with a drill and Drimell tool and puts a humbucking double-coil in a Strat's bridge-position. In all seriousness, that was a key moment when the tail wagged the dog, the instrument manufacturers listented to the players and realized the body advantage of a Fender could have the crunch of a Gibson without the player being on acid. All those workouts paid off, however, the first time somebody said long hair made me look like a girl.

You never dress that point. Every single study regarding mental health and isolation all come to the same conclusion that human beings are social creatures that absolutely need human interaction and because of that isolating people from any form of stimulus and human interaction is torturous. Totally normal people report experiencing visual and auditory hallucinations after a little as 3 days in confinement. People of experienced days, weeks, months or even years of solitary confinement report that they will mentally and emotionally never recover for the rest of their lives because of it and it has destroyed their life. Maybe you should actually look into it for you speak about a topic you don't know anything about. Someone somewhere knows and loves this man. The way that the mentally unwell are treated today is shameful. The lack of resources, as well as the closing of the very institutions where they were treated, has left so many desperate and mentally unwell people on the street. These officers showed great compassion, yet they were abused horribly. This man is still responsible for his actions. I just pray that they get him a psych evaluation whilst he is under arrest. With the right treatment he could live a normal life. Thank you to the brave officers who face situations like this every day. I’ve seen medical staff go through similar, helping people who don’t know they need it, or those who don’t want to be helped. I have seen the incredible difference that the right treatment and the right team can make to the recovery of someone who has severe mental illness.

When officers are assaulted with bodily fluids or poked/bitten, they have to go get a million shots and tests over the course of six months minimum. They are supposed to abstain from sex or at least use protection until they get the all clear that they don't have HIV or any other bloodborne diseases. We do NOT respect or pay officers nearly enough and it breaks my heart. You would have to be a monster to watch these videos and not feel great empathy for them and appreciation for what they do for us. The politicians should be ashamed of themselves for putting us and officers in danger by forcing them to repeatedly interact with violent people like this.

He also appears to be stealing items that he actually needs, rather than alcohol or something to be resold for profit. It would have been tempting to offer to buy those items for him (though still "trespassing" him & escort him out & telling him not to return, of course). Then could have encouraged him to find shelter and/or assistance for his situation.

Even if an unshowered crazy person hasn’t been wearing it around the store, clothing goes through A LOT before you ever lay eyes on them. NO! THATS WHY THEYRE IN A MENTAL INSTITUTION therefore we should show some level of courtesy to those with mental health issues ofc there’s the fact that it’s ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE because you’re being attacked no arguing there but your statement is just absurd*

If the clothes he was wearing were not paid for with the tags on them it is reasonable suspicion that he is about to or has committed the crime of shoplifting. The law is clear on this and any court would say that a reasonable person would believe he was going to steal the clothing items. And spitting on officers is assault. These officers imho have done their job correctly and did not violate his rights.

You almost can't blame him for believeing he didn't do anything illegal or arrestable. It's Washington, one of several states where the prosecutors consistently fail to charge people, often even for serious and violent crimes. Where they allowed a "zone" to be taken over and destruction of public property with impunity 4 yrs ago, but are now chargeing some teenagers with a hate crime and faceing decades in prison for deliberately leaving tire marks from electric scooters on a pride rainbow painted on the street. Millions worth of damage to public buildings? No problem. Skidmarks left by kids causing maybe a couple hundred worth of damage to a simple street mural? Lock em up and throw away the key. Washington, where it's not illegal to walk around in public completely naked, even in front of children as long as you're not doing anything overtly sexual for ones own gratification or for the gratification of someone else. Insanity!!!
