I've tried so many OTC retinol products with the same results, irritation. So several months ago, I decided to try using Bakuchiol. I have to say that I love it. The results are the same, but with none of the irritation. Because it can be a little drying, I always use my moisturizer overtop it. The Ordinary is nice, but I've found best results with Acure Radically Rejuvenating Bakuchiol Overnight Treatment. I then seal everything in with Lainage Sleeping Mask (which my daughter gifted me). That seals in the products (you can really feel it when you cleanse in the a.m.). So far, my skin is responding so well to this little cocktail. Have a wonderful week, Tamara. As I've told you before, I always look forward to Sunday's video! Have a lovely week!

I tend to have the same routine Jan-Dec. The only thing that may be different is trying new products…so maybe I don’t have the same routine at all. Lol. I have been using Naturium Retinaldehyde in a .05% formula, but they now have a .1% strength. Just ordered 2 bottles of the .1% today which is on sale at 20% off. The regular price is $32 so fits my budget better than Avene. But I love Avene’s Thermal mist. So refreshing. Hope you have a lovely Memorial Day!

Hi Tamara truthfully the only real difference in my Summer skincare routine at night is the moisturiser. I have extremely dry skin (with both rosacea and eczema) all year round. In the height of Summer it's humid here in Scotland (we're not quite there yet lol) and my normal thick/buttery creams won't absorb. I load up on toners/essences and serums for the hydration they provide and then use a lighter moisturiser on top. My skin gets very dehydrated in the warmer months with sweating etc and I need to replace the lost water from the skin. Very hydrating toners/essences with a very lightweight texture do not overwhelm my dry skin and quench that thirsty feeling (it doesn't matter how much fluid I consume orally tbh as I drink a ton during the day). I still need a cream with some level of occlusion to seal it all in, but something far more lightweight than all the oils, rich buttery creams and sleeping masks I use in the colder months. Sheet masks are great to travel with to provide the super hydrating I need, instead of multiple bottles of toners/essences. I don't really use single use masks in my regular rotation, but for travel they're invaluable for me. I do continue my retinaldehyde through the Summer also - vitamin a helps your skin cope with the assault of the sun during the day, so it makes no sense to me to stop using it. Obviously if your skin is irritated then skipping a few days is necessary, but for a normal I continue with it over the Summer. I also up my azelaic acid use to combat the tendency to blocked pores from the multiple spf applications/reapplications. Best wishes.

I still get panda eyes from the mascara when I use a cleansing oil and balm when I rinse off. I then have to go in and use a micellar water to remove all the mascara from under my eyes. So I stopped using them and just remove my make up with micellar water and then a gentle wash off cleanser.

Tamara, you are so right about the products you've demonstrated here. I use both the urea moisture lotion and Hado Lobo G. cleansing (Urea great on my legs too) and I love them. Thanks for introducing me to DMTLGY products also, I do like the peptide night cream especially. I use it as a day time moisturizer with their universal sunscreen and so yes! need less serum! I need to pick a dermatologist who lives in my area as I can use Tretinoin. My skin is so dry as I'm 73. i like Cetaphill gentle skin cleanser in addition to exfoliating. First Aid Beauty is also a nice face cleanser. I wear eye makeup/lipstick everyday. My last product I can share with you is Colorescience Flex shield mineral sunscreen SPF 50, tinted. It's somewhat moisturizing too. Thanks again as always.

I noticed that the Hada Labo cleansing oil contains jojoba, which is what I use for my first cleanse-just the organic oil-and it works well for me. I keep seeing that we shouldn’t use a first cleanse product that doesn’t contain surfactants, but I find that the straight oil keeps my dry and sensitive skin from getting irritated during the double cleanse. People think I’m crazy to use jojoba oil in the warm months and coconut oil in the cold months, but they work better for me than any first cleanse product that I’ve tried. I’m one of those who can’t use any form of retinoid on my neck. I use Bakuchiol instead. I use the Bybi version. It’s just bakuchiol and squalane. I apply it over my moisturizer, just 2 drops. I just got the Acure Radically Rejuvenating Overnight Bakuchiol Treatment to see if it will work for me during the hot months when I’d rather not leave oils on my face.

Hi Tamara, thank you for your interesting videos, which I consider a real Sunday treat💖 for me! I’d like to ask your futher opinion regarding vit A in the summer time (actually you speak about tretinoin in the video…). I used retinol 0.3% last year, but I stopped it during summer because I was afraid my dark spots might increase or get worse. I live in Italy by the sea and going to the beach is part of my daily summer routine and I am regularly exposed to the sun , with spf 50, of course. This summer , I would like to go on with retinol , not to waste the results of its use until now. What do you think about it? Is it risky somehow? Or 0.3 % is not so strong? Thanks and have a lovely day 🥰
@TamarasTimelessBeauty
@TamarasTimelessBeauty Жыл бұрын
Thank you Antonella! I have heard mixed opinions on whether Retinoids makes us more sensitive to the sun so I am hesitant to advise you. I personally have not had any bad effects from using Tretinoin Year around, but I am quite diligent about sun protection including reapplication, avoiding peak hours when possible and using wide brimmed hats. Even so, my skin does pick up a tiny bit of a tan each summer so I am planning on having a BBL in the fall just to kick back any pigment that may have popped up. And I really do think my Dark Spot Formula helps as ell.

I have tried to use this method but it left my skin congested. It took a while to understand that "cleansing" my face with oils simply removed the makeup and didn't clean the pores. I always had pore clogging residue. I first use a cream cleanser by Sisley to remove the makeup and then use the Chantecaille rice foaming cleanser to remove the oily residue left by the makeup remover. I immediately apply a restorative facial mist, a Sisley serum and then a moisturizer. I couldn't imagine using oils to cleanse and nothing else. I wouldn't cleanse my body with that process so why "cleanse" the face with that process?

Nothing wrong with oils cleansing, no need to call it "cleansing" just because it didn't work for you/ you didn't find products that would. We all have different skin care needs which is why I'm not going to go into more detail about how pores don't need to be cleansed, for goodness sakes. And yes, I do in fact wash my body with a shower oil too and I warmly recommend shower oils to absolutely everybody!

@Yorkie Mom You could've at least put in one sentence about _why_ you think pores need to be cleansed. I did some googling and found a blog explaining one possible source you might've gotten the idea from: that was the common consensus in the 1930! 90 years ago! That idea has proven to be completely wrong. Please don't follow health advise from the 30's, bad idea. Pores cleanse themselves by producing sebum. When the sebum comes out to the surface of the skin so do the shedded skin cells inside, acids your body has produced etc. and voilà, pores are cleansed. I really doubt any cleanser, no matter how harsh is even going to go into the pores very effectively, pores are tiny and meant to keep everything from outside outside. They're a one-way street only pushing stuff out of the body, everything moves in that direction only. Congestion happens when for a variety of reasons the sebum and shedded skin cells form a block inside the pore rather than flow out freely. Outside "residue" is not a factor in the process. Here's the blog I found. An awful read, don't really recommend, but the quotes from 1930's are hilarious: www.isabelsbeautyblog.com/2015/04/enlarged-pores-and-blackheads/
