8:43 if 1st have 95 chocolates and all others have 100 chocolates then after taking remaining chocolates 1st will have 195 chocolates which is more than double(95*2) choclates. but in question he fell short by 5 chocolates. 1st have 100 chocolates(x+5) and all others have 95(x) chocolates so in attempt to double(100*2) he fell short by 5(100+95). it should be like 1st have x+5 chocolates and all others have x chocolates. If I understand question correctly then above should be approach to solve.

Last question . 17 chocolates left with me after giving 7 more than 1/3 of a no of chocolates .so this no should be 2/3 of 24( ie 17+7) hence 36 36 chocolates left with me after giving 6 more than 1/4th of a no of chocolates , so this no will be 3/4th of 42 ( 36+6) hence 56 56 chocolates left with me after giving 4 more than 1/2 of a no of chocolates .so this no will be 2/1 ie twice of 60( 56+4) hence the no of chocolates is 120.

New approach to the last sum, The initial choc. has to be the multiple 2,3 and 4, because he is dividing by this no. and by reasoning you should start with atleast 120 because he is giving away 17choc and still left with 17 even after divinding it 3 times.

take 2 assumptions 1 where all animals present are peacocks and the amt of legs in that case are 168 this is your 1st extreme and 2nd extreme is where all the animals are rabbits, will be having 336 legs and this will be your 2nd extreme and the resultant of that mix is the amt of legs given that is 222 so 168-------------------------222------------------------------336 54 114 ratio will be 9:19 and therefore the amount ratio will be 19:9 i.e. out of 28 animals 19 are peacocks and 9 are rabbits 84/28 = 3 this is your 1 unit so 19 units is 57 and 9 units is 27

Sir i feel the solution for the first one is wrong. As its A who asked B for chocolates and hence equation for A should be y+x and B should be y-x. X is equal to 20

I think it will be in this way, Let the number of chocolates with 12 children are c1, c2 .......c12. Now, let c2+c3+ ..+c12 = x this means c1 = x-5 and total chocolates with all 12 children = (2x-5). And it is known that, c1 + 22 = x-5 -35 c1 = x -62 So, total number of chocolates with 1st and 2nd, c1 + c2 = x-5 + x -62 = 2x -67, Number of chocolates with c3, c4, ......, c12 = Total Chocolates - (c1+c2) = (2x -5) - (2x - 67) = 2x -5 -2x + 67 = 62 (So, Answer should be 62).

I think first is also wrong bcz if A has given x chocolates to B so that they will have equal number of chocolates, this means before giving to B, A had y+x chocolates. and also now let B had some N chocolates and since he got X more and his chocolates become N + X = Y i.e. initially B had Y - X chocolates. Thus , can say A B Stage 1. Y+X. Y - X Stage 2 Y Y Stage 3 Y+X - 3X Y - X + 3X After stage 3 we know the difference between the no. of chocolates they have is 80 and also know that B has more chocolates i.e. B's Chocolate - A's Chocolates is equal to 80. Hence (Y - X + 3X)-(Y+X - 3X)= 80 X=20. But don't know how did sir take it Y-X for A and Y+X for B,If I have done any mistake please tell me, I wanna know whether I interpreted question correctly or incorrectly.

You interpreted the question wrong. A asked B that "give me x chocolates", you thought it to be other way around.

if all people have 100 chocolates and you short of 5 that means you have 95 chocolates but question says you falls short of 5 chocolates when you try to double not in a initial phase so initial chocolate should be x-2.5 only then it comes 95

becoz these 54 legs are of rabbit who have 2 extra legs (as already 2 legs of rabbit is counted in 168 legs so abhi bhi 2 extra legs of rabbit are left na so we are dividing ... the extra total legs of rabbit by each extra leg of rabbit. i.e 54/2= 27

Hello, i have a little doubt at 10:21. How can we conclude that x-y is the amount of chocolates with children 3 to 12. As we've been told 'x' is total amount of chocolates with students from 2nd to straight away 12th. 'y' is amount of chocolates with 2nd, but there is 1st kid as well. We ignored him and got x-y as no. of chocos with 3rd to 12th as 'x-y'

Hi Ronit. It's written in the question that 2nd child took *exactly* 2 chocolates from each of the other children. Total children are 12. Therefore, he will take 2-2 chocolates from 11 children. 11x2=22 Chocolates. I hope it helped ;-)

At 9:58 the 2nd question if we assume chocolate with the first child be 'x' and the remaining 11children have (x+5) chocolates. And 2nd child have y chocolates and after taking 2 chocolates each of the other children he will have = y+(2×11) = y+22. Then by question y+22 = x-35 x-y = 57. Is this wrong ?

Yes because if you assume chocolates of remaining 11 children to be x+5 then no. Of chocolates from 3rd to 12th child will be (x+5)-y... And not x-y

I think sir made a calculation mistake there in question it is 1/3 but sir wrote 2/3 but if you asking what is the calculation method 👇 When we were going in forward manner chocolates distributed was 2/3 of 36 chocolates i.e 36 X 2/3 =24 but to find the answer we are going in Reverse Manner(Reverse Approach) so we have to calculate 3/2 of 24 i.e 3/2 X 24= 36

It should be reverse of it. The equation is reversed by sir . Equation should be y+x+3x=y-x-3x+80 than the correct answer should be 10. Hope u understand now

Because rabbit has 2 legs more than peacock............thats why divide it by 2

You already accounted for one pair of the rabbit legs and all of peacock legs in 84×2. The legs that are left are the other pairs of rabbit legs only. Legs left=222-84×2=54. Hence, you divide 54 by 2 to get the number of rabbits.

@shriyachopra we just assumed all 84 heads as head of 🦚 but in that heads of 🐇 also present right ! & for total 🦚 + 🐇 ( 84 heads ) , legs = 168.....now look we just considered only 2 legs here......so left over legs...that's 54 will be just other pair of legs of Rabbit 🐇 so u got 54 / 2 = 27 Rabbits 🐰 ( just remember 84 is total no of heads we just assumed it to be of peacock.....& in that whatever be the no of raabbits we have just calculated it's 2 legs......when we distribute other 2 legs from remaining legs we get total no of rabbits....I hope it helps :)

Sir takes the point where a and b has equal number of chocolates, as y. So how did it come to be equal? -> when x is reduced from b and given to a. When x is reduced from b, it becomes y. So, before b should have value y+×. Similarly a should have value y-x, so that when x is(given) added to a, it will become y.

I had a simple approach, what I did was: Given A gets x chocolates from B. And if it happens, both will have equal no of chocolates. A becomes A+x, B becomes B-x. Now both are having equal chocolates, => A+x = B-x Also, B gets thrice(3x) of chocolates from A, B will have 80 more than A. => B+3x = A-3x + 80 => A-B = 6x-80 Also, from the first equation, A-B = -2x Equate both the equations, => 6x-80 =-2× => 8x = 80 => x = 10.

@@dhruvsharma9083 Bro 54 legs are extra (after counting peacock’s legs) . There are total 54 legs left . But one rabbit has 2 legs left . Therefore 54 /2 = 27 rabbits It’s just like u got 10 chocolates for 100RS so for 1 chocolate u spent 100/10 = 10Rs

Total 222 legs . 168 legs of peacock . 54 legs left of rabbit ( we already counted 2 legs of rabbit ) We assumed that each of them minimum has 2 legs . So now we will divide 54 by 2 because the other 2 we have already counted while assuming

56 is the number of remaining chocolates 120-64=56 (and he gave 64 to his first friend 120/2+4=64)

For the last question, rather than doing it with reverse method, if you do it with percentage method, n assume the number of chocolates is 100%, then you get 12% left at last. N if 12/100 of x = 17, then x we get as 141.67

sir, in the second question, if the 2nd child took 2 chocolates from all of the rest, then he would have taken 20 chocolates in total as there are 10 people behind him. The question doesn't specify if the first child should be considered or not but I think it won't be considered and the answer will be 60, not 62 or 72.

first question sir make wrong equation , it is not any where that a and b are equal , we can solve this question , A=a , B=b a+x=b-x , a+2x=b ------------(1) b+3x=a-3x+80 , b-a=80-6x-------------(2) taking value of b from first eq. a+2x-a=80-6x x=10

Lets understand with example .... IF U HAVE 2 CHOCOLATES AND I HAVE 4 AND STATEMENT IS I GIVE U 1 WE BECOME EQUAL . @Shreya Jha. Well The answer is right. The answer will be 10 only. Carefully note Ravi Sir is going from 2nd statement to 1st statement. So since he is going reverse. You need to reverse the 1st statement as well. So Answer is completely fine

@@prayasdivlogging6925 ...it's completely correct...reverse process....difference between them is of 2x and when b will give x chocolate to A...then x will get cancelled on A side and both will be left with y chocolate...put X=10 and crosscheck by taking initial value (A=60 and B= 80) 👍

@@prayasdivlogging6925 what sir has written is correct. Yes A recieves the chocolate. But A and B values are taken to be y, when the transaction of x had already happened. So to come to the point of y(from I to II), A had received x chocolates. So before, A was having y-x. So when A receives x chocolates, at II, A will have y-x + x = y chocolates. That's y sir wrote it as y-x in I . This is quite confusing, it takes more time for us to understand.

Let the person is having 'x' chocolates. 1st friend - ( x/2 + 4) Remening choc. = ( x/2 - 4) . 2nd friend - [ 1/4( x/2 - 4) + 6 ] Remaining choc. = [ 1/4 ( x/2 - 4) - 6 ] . 3rd friend - { 1/3[ 1/4( x/2 - 4) - 6] + 7} Remaining chocs. = { 1/3[ 1/4( x/2 - 4) - 6] - 7} . At last, { 1/3[ 1/4( x/2 - 4) - 6] - 7} = 17 Thrf., final answer is getting, 'x= 368'! . Help me with this anyone...

After giving 2nd friend, remaining chocolates would be [3*1/4(x/2 - 4) - 6] as he is giving only 1/4th part to 2nd friend and 3/4th would be left with him

Hi, no it's correct he is doing in reverse way Both should have equal by b giving to a and a receiving from b Which means B should have had one extra before giving And a should have had one less before receiving Hope it clears
