Simple Fix to HeadPhones Working on One Side or Only Works when Twisting Headphone Jack

You do not have to dismantle or take anything apart in this video. If you have problems with your headphones, earphones, or earbuds, in one device but then if you plug them into another device and it works perfectly then you may have a build up of debris, lint, fluff, dirt, or even a mixture of debris with stained coffee, soda, etc in your headphone jack.
Your headphones may only work on one side, randomly change sides, or cuts in and out. I show you how to get the debris out. Make sure have a brush toothpick like this one: amzn.to/28ZUTfO
Make sure the bristle is hard and not soft or it will not work. You should be able to get these or something similar at CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc.
You can also use a pipe cleaner with hard bristle such as this one: amzn.to/2980Wwi

It didn't work for me but I found the cause of this problem. Last part of the earphone's connector is responsible for left and middle is for right side. Left side stops working when phone's jack becomes loose for some reason. I put a piece of paper inside the phone's cover, over jack. It solved the problem. It will surely solve yours too.

I solved my problem, but it wasn't through this method. On the right top pin in my jack was depressed or something so I pulled it out with a sewing needle. This was helpful: imgur.com/gallery/5cou6

Dude, I could not believe it was the dirt causing these issues but I was wrong and I'm glad I tried it out. I was shocked to see what all came out of that tiny jack hole. It was mostly lint & fluff and I had 3-4 times of what you had on the video. I have no idea how all that went there. Hahaha. You just saved my $75. Thank you. And for all those people wondering what to use, I used toothpick and a cotton bud. Worked great.

Simple fix: Tape the Wire down in a position where it works. Apply lots of tape. Enjoy sound in both ears.

Doesn't work if you carry your phone in your pocket. I used to go thru it with Walkman and cd player. It's annoying having to hold the device a certain way so that nothing comes 8n contact with the cord. You also have to watch out for snagging.

Thank you! It's working but i didnt use any of the equipment above lol. I just use q-tip with a bit of water, needle, blow and repeat for most 10 minutes. Nothing came out from the port but i can finally listen to both sides of my earphones.

Hey there iLuvTrading! I've had an issue with my earbuds from the right end being low, but I thought it was just tripping like it wasn't working well enough but then when I watched your video til the end when you said that they may have ear wax in the driver, I then realized and looked in there and it was like a tiny piece of wax sitting on the driver. So I'd grabbed like a tin wire and dug it out and tried them and they working just fine! Thanks for solving the solution to my problem! I would've known nothing about wax being inside the driver on top of it. 😎😎💯💯👌🏾👌🏾

This worked! All my different headphones weren't working on my BB9900, so I knew the issue was not with the headphones. I twisted a thinned out q-tip in the jack, and it pulled out the tiniest residue of black lint. Now the jack is good as new. Thanks!

I did this and after a ton of scrubbing with a alcohol dipped cotton swap and alternating with a can of compressed air finally I got it so I can at least hear SOMETHING in my right earbud, I could only hear through my left before this. Should I just keep scrubbing and scrubbing until the sound volume is equal in both buds? (they are clean buds by the way, it's the jack for sure)

Devon I had that problem to Like a yr ago, and I tried to fix it. Then I just gave up and bought a bunch of new earphones then the right side doesn't work and I do everything and it still doesn't work so I give up and just use my left side until they finally break XD

I've been living with this problem for months and never thought that the darn contact could be dirty! It makes sense from all the time it spent in my pocket... In the end, I got a massive ball of fluff from my S6 edge using a small cable tie and just poking it around in there. Thanks for the tip! Thumbs up from me.

My boat rokerz 400 bluetooth headphone has problem of o audio in between dialogues. Its like a movie is playing and sometimes when there is no sound on the movie in between dialogues it is supposed to go blank on audio, and when the sound starts the headphone does not start playing the sound. Its like it fails to pick up sound after noice cancellation the blank part in a video for 10-15 seconds, and if i go backward for 10 seconds in videos, it starts playing again. It occurs only when there is a silent part in audio, e.g. silence between 2 dialogues. Can u plz help?
