Fabulous idea! I found myself having to explain old school friction shocks to a fella just the other day. I might have to send him this video. Nothing explains a concept better than a good visual.

Great stuff. I would suggest a spacer the full width of the frame rail to prevent crushing. Forces may not be that high but effectiveness could be reduced with just a little narrowing. Great idea for a damper.
