Love this video! I haven't done any artwork for the past few weeks because I saw so many imperfections in them and feel bad for abandoning art :( Thank you for reminding me that art does not have to be perfect & I should just have fun instead!

When the mind is stored with valuable ideas, hands start to work automatically by believing whatever comes from the mind's eye will be precious things for someone's eyes. You are good example to believe in our own capabilities and not to question how it's going to work.

I love your acrylic gouache paintings, I don't have any of these. I do have regular heavy body Acrylics though. I plan on gessoing a page before using regular heavy body acrylics to protect it. I have clear gesso so that the texture of the pages show through in my Moleskine and Strathmore journals.

Acrylics should work similarly compared to acrylic gouache 😊 Hope it goes well!

I enjoyed your paintings. I was wondering if you could paint the dark/black background using acryla gouache and then paint the leaves on top using regular gouache without reactivating the first layer? When dry, does acryla gouache and regular gouache have the same matte finish?

I haven't jumped on the Himi train yet! I so badly do, but shipping to my country is super dodgy, and takes sooo long. But watching you do these kinds of videos really makes me want to just get them anyway!

I would say if you can't get them for cheap, don't get them. Most of their appeal is their affordability to be honest. I'd rather get higher quality paints if they're easier to get. Winsor and Newton are nice and smooth for example.

Wow your work is so beautiful, the style appeals to me so much. I am very new to gouache and often wondered what acrylic gouache was. Do you offer classes on Skillshare? That’s the platform i prefer to learn on as I already have a subscription and can never seem to afford other courses.

I like the ones from paper poetry or the ones you get at Ikea because they have the right stickiness for art. If you're just looking for beautiful patterns and happen to live in the US I'd go to Michaels :)

Would Ink work to create the Dark background? Like india ink or even a Sharpie? Just something that is waterproof when dry that would still allow the paper underneath to absorb the paint without contaminating it?

Thank you! Because I'm not really making much of a profit and it takes a lot of work and energy. Especially shipping from Europe since most orders come from the US causes a lot of issues.
