Things you can do to increase the rates of the farm: 1. Light up the nearby caves. (Most important) 2. Add more layers. 3. If no creepers are spawning, try changing your gamemode to peaceful and then to normal/hard.

*Materials list per layer:* 230 blocks 54 slabs 126 trapdoors 30 buttons 2 cats

In survival this is the easiest one to build. Other tutorials are like bruh do I have to build the Vatican or something

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS. All other tutorials are so confusing and super hard so when I found this I was sceptical. It was super easy to make and even with one layer got me 10 gunpowder in less than three minutes (for a test run). I did however modify it to kill the creepers with campfires (on top of hoppers) because it was more resource efficient. All I did was extended the water stream and made the creepers fall down onto the campfires and it worked really well. Thank you!!

I love how you used smooth stone, it makes it easier to follow the tutorial without having to rewind to the numbers

Another thing I noticed is that if the farm is spawning creepers well, then suddenly either stops completely or slows to a trickle, it's because the occasional spiders you get push the cats into a corner. So I think frequently switching to peaceful and then back is a good idea if you notice a sudden stoppage or slow down. I had to go inside now twice and move the cats back to the center. If you do this, make sure the trapdoors are all closed on whatever level you or on, because the cats will take off and fall down into the kill chamber. Also, I recommend turning it to peaceful when you go in for maintenance or torch it quick and be ready for creepers or spiders to be there waiting for you if you don't have the option. I'm not sure why I keep getting spiders, in theory it shouldn't happen, but it does.

I have built this over 5 times now and I absolutely love it! Standing 25 blocks away from trident killer is key and I usually make mine 10 layers high

great farm! i used magma blocks instead of trident piston still works great! after 4hrs i had 2 stacks and that was only with 2 layers i am for sure going to add more thanks so much for such an incredible farm!

Tried this on my survival world, it works great. I made sure to light up the surrounding area and got good rates. I love this design because you can camouflage it much easier than you can other farms

i saw a similar video with the trident killer but it was so extra and complicated but this video was simple and easy

If anyone is struggling with how the trident doesn’t stay on the pistons and doesn’t kill the creepers I’d recommend replacing the entire redstone part with just some simple lava and signs so the creepers burn but the loot goes in the hoppers

Totally works in 1.19, but I did have to mess with it a bit: 1. Built it in the middle of the ocean. 2. Built it around Y level 150. 3. Building less than 5 layers is really slow for some reason. 4. Getting the afk platform in the right spot is a must. 25 blocks from the bottleneck of the farm (skinny spot in the middle). After that, I was getting about 6 stacks an hour with the looting 3 effect. It's also worth noting that there seems to be long periods of nothing followed by a lot spawning all at once, so I wouldn't panic if nothing seems to happen for a bit. If you see nothing after 5 straight minutes then maybe check for something lol

At first after making this I was like damn it's slow. A few things that helped were I made it a revolving hopper minecart rig for the collection system and also lined the walls and floors with magma blocks to take out the eventual spider or two. What really helped though was lighting up the caves I made the error of building this on top of a 128 block high mountain, and low and behold it was riddled with caves like swiss cheese, I'm still not even close to having the whole area lit, but the rates have improved. I only built this 2 tiers high and I'd say I'm getting about a stack and a half per hour at least. Not the greatest, but also not the worst for an easy to make farm. Thanks for posting.

Just built this today on survival underground. Can confirm it works and only spawns creepers(latest bedrock edition). Massive cavern I built it in and lit up a decent amount around my platforms that I built in mid air. So far at 8 simulation distance and around 20 blocks away seems best spawn rates. Will light up more of the cavern and test various distances to find better rates. Made mine 4 platforms and running about 2 stacks per hour. On a side note I did get 2 cats per platform so for my 4 platforms was 8 cats total and I just tamed a bunch and had them follow me by climbing a ladder to each platform in survival.

still full of spiders you can fix this by replacing the buttons with 2 tall fence posts( connected from floor to ceiling with no trapdoor there) seeing as spiders need a 3x3x2 airspace above a spawnable block so they can still spawn between the buttons as there is air over them

Idk what to do my rates are really bad. I built it just like the video. Lowest render distance. Lit up the only cave I could find and I only got about 25 for half an hour.

It works fine! Especially when you build on Y 150 over an ocean. Just gotta make sure to build a slab roof (big one) over the farm so that the light level inside the farm is 0

Can confirm this works in 1.19! Just made it with my fiancé. Made it at Y-71 on solid ground. However: -I lit up a 20-30 block radius ALL the way around. You have to light it up like a sphere. Under, over, and all around the farm. Especially if there is a cave near it (ours had one UNDER it. So much fun) -We did 3 layers. After 20 minutes we have 26 gunpowder, so approximately 1 per minute (I had a looting 3 sword, my fiancé had a looting 2 sword) -Make sure to add slabs to the top as well to cut down spawning on top of the farm

Amazing farm, but I highly recommend the following: Put Simulation Distance on 4 chunks, I had pretty much no creepers spawning until I did that. Looting 3 Sword in hand makes this incredibly more efficient Mob Proof the surrounding area, caves, the roof of farm, etc

Just got mine working! This is my first creeper farm! 😄 built it high over the ocean and lit the ocean floor a bit to reduce drowned spawns. I had to build 6 or 7 layers to get good drops but I might be standing in the wrong place or something because it's still a little slow. I'll figure it out. 💕 Thank you! I feel so accomplished. 😁

Why do we need to afk away from the kill chamber? Doesn't that just cause the XP orbs to disappear?

I did two layers of this farm in the exact way the video describes it (in survival mode). And it does work great, but I do have a problem. Sometimes the creepers spawn but not really and when they do they dont fall into the killing chamber, they just kind of hangout in the water. Also another problem is that the redstone engine with the trident thing I made just stops. Like randomly for example: I'll stop to be AFK and when i come back, the redstone engine just stopped, the pistons stopped pushing and the trident stays still. Thats when I have to use the lever over and over again until it starte working in a clock motion again. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?? (Also the farm is very great I do reccomend building it!!)

Got the farming working and spawning creepers but having a hard time getting creepers to fall into the collection area. (I used campfires) . They just run around in circles up top. Lol

It might not be working because after the caves update it made the mobs spawn on light 1 and the stone make some light so u can just try make it by cobbelled deppslate because it darker so no light wiil be there

If you want exp but don't have a trident you could lead the creepers into 1 block and suffocate them using just simple sticky pistons then count to 12 or 13 so you can 1 hit them and get exp and gunpowder! This trick actually works with skeletons and zombies too

I normally never comment but holy crap this farm is amazing! I built 4 levels underground extending from my basement and after 2 hours of afking, I have about 7 stacks of gunpowder 🙌🙌 phenomenal! It was ridiculously easy to build and it will be just as easy if I ever want to add more layers but I don’t think I’ll need to 😅

Ok I have some questions 1. Does this work on realms 2 if you build it in the sky, would you not have to light up the caves(if so how high)?

i've followed the exact steps except i put campfires with hoppers and a chest instead of the whole red stone killing thing cos i didn't have a trident and mobs aren't spawning for some reason

I recommend instead of making this you can make jc playz farm it takes more material and time but it was worth it. And I got around 5-6 stack gunpowder/hour (I'm talking about 1.18 farm with trident killer)

finished this just in time for new update 1.18.3 got did get creepers but also get a lot of spiders. will try fenceposts someone else suggested. also wondering if the spiders kill the cats? which may be why it just completely stopped for some people Tried the fencepost suggestion (replacing all buttons and trapdoors above the buttons with fenceposts) worked great; still get an occasional spider (I think they are spawning partially over the gap) but getting about one string to a stack of gunpowder

I built 5 layers of this and lit up caves below and above ground and it gave me 5 stacks afking from 1 am to 7 am. I say it works. I gotta build more layers and light up more caves but this is the first creeper farm on bedrock I’ve managed to get to work

Hi y’all I built 3 creeper farms and ima give it to you straight If you want a extremely good but time consuming farm go look at JCPlays (me personally it had the best rates but you get burnt building it in survival) 2) I built this farm in survival that’s in the video yesterday it’s the easiest one to build and it has pretty good rates actually with 2 layers (by far my favorite farm) 3)I built a creeper farm by a small channel named Jenny that one was lackluster but easy to build (wouldn’t bother with that one) Hope this helps people with the new update I needed a creeper farm badly and built multiple to see which one was the best

If building it over ocean will it provide better rates?

So I’m on a realm and have tried afking in several different areas but no matter what this farm doesn’t seem to work. Is there a specific area I need to afk in?

Not a lot of mobs are spawning in there. I suspect the trapdoor on the roof are not letting them spawn. Does this work with realms?

But other mobs stacks in and don't die, right ? Then after a moment the mob cap will prevent creeper from spawning Edit : after some thinking, I figured out that if you don't place torches everywhere outside the farm, mobs will spawn outside and so the farm will be inefficient, then the mob cap will be reached so don't forget to place torches

You can use campfire or lava from the killing area instead of a trident but it doesn't give you xp and tridents are pretty rare to drop from drowns

easy way is go up to the sky about 100 block in the sea than it will be very efficient you can make tnt and rocket etc I recommend build this farm on ocean and 100 bock up in the sky.

My 2 layer farm does not work for some reason. I have rewatch the vid like 4 times and I can’t find anything that I did wrong. The one time that I got creepers to spawn was when I was building the second layer. (Only 2 creepers spawned) I also didn’t have the trident killer running at that point because I was still looking for a trident, but once everything was completed no creepers spawn. (I ran it overnight just to make sure) any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Had problems spawning, changed trident killer to one that used rails instead of torches and worked fine after, light level may have been the cause
