There was a time a few years back after my husband suddenly passed away at only 59, that I stopped caring about makeup. I still took care of my skin, but that is where it stopped. I watched all the KZfaq channels & so many seemed like infomercials & it became frustrating. Then I found you & went all the way to your beginnings on KZfaq & you gave me my confidence back. Everything you had gone through, but you didn't let it stop you & know deep in your heart you were hurting. I said "its time to put your best self forward." I went to a therapist, vented & worked through my pain. Then I listened to you making all us women, no matter our age feel good about ourselves. I thank you every day for putting me back on my feet & putting my best face forward. Nikol "you" were a God send!

There is nothing more assuring than seeing mature women still radiating. I am 23 years old and I love to see beutiful mature women who still have a high entitlement and aspiration in life. She is rich and can afford to look good. I am 68 and after working all my life (degreed professional) I have nothing, but pains and aches, look like shit and the only assuring thing is that I will die. There is nothing to figure out; most of us work and age and die. Some of us, like me, are in the wrong country (I am not American) and we are just immigrants for anglos to look down at. Life sucks and then we die.

Thank you for your observation! I’m 64 and take pride in looking the best I can without surgery. I was a single working Mom for over 30 years who always put my children first. As they left the home in my 40’s I was able to spend time and money on myself. While I still haven’t figured out adult life, ( LOL)what I do know is I’m worth the time and money to be the best I can be. That for me involves keeping my weight in check, exercising everyday, keeping my wardrobe, hair & makeup current.

Great video! I am 72 and wouldn't go a day without makeup. I have literally crawled from a hospital bed to the bathroom to put on some makeup and curl my hair. Vanity? Nope! I just don't feel like myself without it. I made my husband promise, when I die, to have a professional makeup artist, do my makeup. LOL! It just makes me feel alive. Thank you for all your hard work. i love your products and use them daily!

@@NikolJohnsonI have been using Bare Minerals foundation for over 10 years. Watching your videos I see a change is necessary. I have been buying some drugstore recommended items to just try out different foundations. Even when you are buying cheaper items, it can rack up the costs when you aren’t sure of shades,etc. I know I have been too “low maintenance” for the last 25 years (I’m 56) and I can’t expect results at 56 when I didn’t properly hydrate and protect my skin (a message to the young girls out there). All this to say, having not experimented with ANY products for half a lifetime I don’t even know what some of these products are. For instance: BB and CC creams. What are these? Tinted moisturizers, foundations or what? Maybe a video going WAYYYY back to help those of use who have lived under a rock for decades. Product guide 101. I’m sure I can’t be the only one 🙂. Over the last 2 months I have really been enjoying your content. Gone are the days going to Macy’s to try out new higher end cosmetics because our Macy’s left Bangor, Maine years ago. So your techniques are helpful and I do feel much more confident. I have also bought some of your products. Your videos are uplifting. Thank you for that.

I love all your tips and made an investment in the new me! I tossed all my old makeup and bought dye for my eye brows! Yes, I got black! I have tried taupe, grey, espresso and all shades of brow pencils and gels, black just works with my now silver hair and black & silver eye brows. So I just want to say that you rock, Nicol ❣Forget any negative comments from readers because brown/black, espresso, grey, blond or silver brows just aren't our look. Black is bold, but our brows were always black and I still have some coming in black at 75yrs.

I’ve ordered a few items from Nikol and even though I’m 79 years old with a nordic skin and complexion and she is Greek, I’m absolutely happy with all the items I ordered. I used her method that she showcased on her mother and I look fabulous with her tutorials. I get compliments to look pretty darn good for my almost 80 year old face. Great video! I am constantly buying new makeup products and sometimes I don't even know why. I have many of the Nikol beauty products and they are all very lovely, high quality and packaged beautifally. I find I reach for them more than anything else, really all you need. I am really going to try and manage my makeup purchasing this year and I got a library card, as well, to help manage my book buying habit. I am finding I just don't want all of this"stuff" around me anymore. Purchasing excess makeup is truly a waste of money and a huge storage problem. Lets see how I do!!

Happy New Year Nicole. I have learned so much from you about how to put on makeup...it is good to have hard working products, but if you have no technique it doesn't matter how good, or expensive your products are, you won't look your best. Being that I am 45, I get a lot of compliments on my skin, I drink a lot of water and keep my skin hydrated with my skin care as well. I tend not to wear makeup as much as I use to in my 20’s. Thank you for sharing all of your advice on being young at any age. 😊

Hi Nikol, My hair is as thick as yours. Never ever visited a hairdresser who did not say, "Man, you've got a lot of hair." Got it from my mom. Of my 3 kids, my son, middle child got it. My 2 daughters got their hair from their dad's family. All the women wore wigs. My son, of course, shaves his head.

Completely agree about “long lasting lipstick” I never use it. Too drying, & sometimes it’s still there the next day. I am a huge fan of “mixing” my lipsticks. I always use a lip brush & sometimes tone down a pink with a nice, etc. it’s like painting!

I have never experienced that. Lipstick still there on my lips the next day?. With me it's keeping it on after an hour of applying. I apply and by time I get to my destination it is no longer there Lip crayons are a better solution than some tube lipstick and hang around better .

A great piece of advice that came from a top Dermatologist ..... "When you choose a make up line as a woman over 50, buy products made by a designer who is female and over 50. Hi Nikol. Thank you for your videos. I am a 63 yr old and had endometritis and needed a full hysterectomy at age 35. I live in Australia 🇦🇺 with our harsh sun most of the year and have tried to look after my skin. I love your tips as well as your attitude towards you do you. We are all trying our best and i try to keep a positive outlook. Since watching your videos i put makeup on just for myself and love to experiment with the tips you give. Thank you again.

Nikol your new BB Cream is a winner and a keeper. My face is smooth and soft with just enough of a glow that I feel I don't need Blush. It is gorgeous! This was a fabulous video. I hear what your saying about a few items for morning and evening look. I'm 68 and have to be honest, MY preference is to have alot of different makeup because I love working with color. I still get compliments, so I feel personally for me it works. I get bored with no color. I sometimes like a bright lip, smokey eye, or even bright vibrant eye. I just tone down in other ways. Like sometimes I don't wear blush, or light bronzer. But I loved hearing your video today! Please remember I'm only referencing me. No one else.....

Out of all the comments you might be reading, I have to do a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Nikol's Eye Primer. I am 76 years old, getting 'shadows' in my eyelids, and I have never....ever....had a product that conceals as well, and stays on as well. Please, please, trust me on this. If you only get one product from Nikol, get her Eye Primer.
