Dear Mr. Vernon: We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong, but we think you’re crazy to make us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us… In the simplest terms and the most convenient definitions. The video is from an IMAX film, The Dream is Alive, about the Space Shuttle program. It was produced with the full cooperation of NASA. The footage was shot with IMAX 65mm/15 perf cameras by the Astronauts themselves. The IMAX frame is the largest camera frame available - roughly nine times the size of a 35mm frame. Imagine this footage on a full-size IMAX screen of 8 storeys! Great use of Simple Minds' iconic 80s track.

I was in an ER in the Texas Medical Center several years ago (everything healed). The ER director is a former space shuttle astronaut. A very smart, kind, down to Earth man. We only take the best & the brightest in the US Space Shuttle program. I will go into space when rides come up on offer...One of my bucket list Top Tens!!!

So powerful, playing it daily now..Inspiring as if it was yesterday GO NASA! I LOVE this video! From Ignition a slight rocking back & forth arm detachment then lift off...Discovery rolls & climbs & begins her ascent to on highway 49 on a Stellar Monday commute to Orbit. Hero's them all every NASA astronaut that has climbed into a shuttle snapped his & or her spurs & strapped in for the ride up stairs there isn't anything greater in the World.. No experience can match up to the exhilaration from a shuttle ride on up to space to the ISS then begin the greatest journey Orbiting the Earth from a vantage point you won't get anywhere else. Opening the payload doors & looking down onto such a beautiful sight, the greatest ever!!..DeepBlue stuff my friends & we remember those who have given their lives in the pursuit of science, We remember you Challenger & Discovery to those 14 brave astronauts. YES THE DREAM IS ALIVE. STILL TO THIS DAY.. NASA WE SALUTE YOU!! THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO!

I always really like that bit that starts 1:10 that sounds like singing, it's dramatic enough already, but then combined with that distant shot of shuttle lifting off is mind blowing, this song should be used in a space film. At the opening with the waves is very 80's.

Maybe I'm over analyzing too much but it seems like this song is amazingly synchronized with certain shots throughout the video; eg as helicopter in the opening turns left and climbs there's a building up of sound and the crescendo continues to increase as the shuttle explodes off the launch pad. If you pay very close attention to the downbeats they're precisely timed with a lot of things. Oh well, if it's just me that's fine because I've watched it many times! Further more I've been to Cape Canaveral & The Kennedy Space Center. Good Video!! 👍
