You’ve given me confidence to get my confused head back to basics - thank you. I have zero marine aq experience, haven’t even got my tank yet and I’ve already been mentally buying upgrades because of watching 100s of KZfaq videos telling me the stock parts aren’t much good!

Nice and simple. Great desk top reef tank. Wait another year of two. Will look even better. A few small gobies would be with the keeping of these plans. A crab, hermit, a few nerite and nassarius snails and you’ve got it.

Thank you for the series on the Evo 13.5. I just purchased the tank and will use your approach for setting it up. I like your rockwork too. Is it several pieces that you glued together in the shape of a bridge and caves, etc. or did you luck out and find a cool piece of live rock?

Hi Corey, I have the same tank with 2 clownfish, 1 midas blennie 2 crabs and 2 snails and am having issues with nitrates and phosphates. I use RODI water and change 20 litres of water each week. I feed the fish brine shrimp every other day. Never had an algae issue (green) but after the diatom phase I started getting algae covering my rock in around 3 - 4 weeks. no algae on glass. Have tried phosguard and de-nitrate with no success. LFS suggested that I could add some corals to absorb some of the nitrate. I only turn on the lights for a few hours each day and appreciate that having corals would need more light time. Any ideas on what to try next? thanks in advance!

Hi! I am thinking of buying that same aquarium, but what really worries me is the noise, because I am going to have it in my bedroom, does the skimmer or the movement pump make a lot of noise? Does the light have a separate cable to plug in a light timer?
