@@NoName-fn6eeI disagree. You don't need to be an Apple Fan for appreciating something. It's been 3 years since I switched to macOS and my experience has been really good. I find myself using shortcuts more on macOS than Windows and although there are things to complain about as everything isn't perfect, I still prefer macOS when I consider the overall picture. The reason why I think macOS is still pretty cool is most likely because Apple doesn't put as much as that bullshit crap like they with their iPhones like those green-blue bubbles drama, restricted system and stuffs. Contrary to the popular belief, you can install pirated apps on macOS and I find shortcuts consistent across different apps in macOS. I got a Windows laptop 3 months ago as my secondary laptop, with my MacBook Pro still being the primary and I think the things that I dislike the most about Windows is it's touchpad and it's gestures. The Windows experience is still a bit better on desktops but given my work, I use laptops 99% of the time, so I usually prefer the macOS workflow. That being said, people won't get it anyway unless they use both the systems for about half a year and get used to it. They have different workflows and if you keep comparing one to the other, you'll always have something to complain about. And if you really can't digest the shortcuts, you can always customize each and every shortcut to almost anything of your choice. There isn't an easy way to customize system level shortcuts system-wide on Windows like on macOS. I think this is the only Apple device that I can make sense of, the rest are trash for me. Someone just said that iPhones are intuitive while macOS isn't. Lol, I don't know which part of iPhones are intuitive.

In Linux this depends on the desktop environment/window manager/file explorer and it is pretty much always configurable. Most of the time it comes ready out of the box with the OS (but some distros like Arch come bare naked), and you can ALWAYS change every piece of software to one that you prefer. No one forcing you to use software you don't like; real freedom! ;)
@AlejandroLZuvic
@AlejandroLZuvic 2 жыл бұрын
To be fair, in macOS you can customize like 95% of the shortcuts system wide. I use both Linux and macOS so I know it IS NOT the same, but talking about specifically about shortcuts (which is what the video focuses on) yeah, you can change a lot.

@@AlejandroLZuvic yeah, this is great, and for this sort of thing (plus every security and privacy reason, basically being a UNIX system) I think MacOS is way better than Windows will ever be. but still, there's nothing better than having the freedom to choose exactly what software you want.
@AlejandroLZuvic
@AlejandroLZuvic 2 жыл бұрын
@@rageprod yes, it's great but it's also kind of a personal preference. I've using Linux for years in desktop and I still use it on servers. I've decided to give up a bit of customization in order to have a more stable desktop environment. PS: when I say stable, I'm talking about the desktop management system, not the actual kernel+OS. Every time I tried to customize my GNOME or KDE I've went just a bit too far and I've ended up breaking something and needed to re-install it or login from a TTY terminal, etc. Not a big deal but I've decided I prefer to have some "boundaries" in what I can break or not, for my own sanity LOL
@rageprod
@rageprod 2 жыл бұрын
@@AlejandroLZuvic yeah, environments that come ready out of the box can break if you go too far (usually because of dependencies or incompatibility with the preinstalled software), so I get this. using Linux in general can be a lot of work (specially the DIY distros), but it's worth it imo.

I have used both Mac and Windows and still do. The thing is that the keyboard shortcuts on windows are intuitive and can be discovered while experimenting (be careful tho). While Mac shortcuts often require me to google them. But both OSes have their own advantages and disadvantages. Macs tend to have more privacy (it's question and through some easy steps Windows will also offer the same level of privacy). Then again there are many things that are quite easy to do on Windows. Basically anything that is kind of technical will require some extra steps in Mac. And as I use a MacBook (my dad's forsaken old one) the things that you do with the touchpad are SATISFYING AS HECK. Specially dragging around stuff with 3 fingers. But a side note, windows laptops will not last 7-10 yrs without service while my dad's old laptop has never been serviced, yes the battery obliviously has weakened but strong enough to give me around 2-3 hours of poweruse. So both have advantages but if you want a worry free experience a Mac is worth it albeit the few extra steps to get things done. Adios.

I find their metro app versions of things like the control panel a lot worse than the control panel. I'm glad they brought it back, but the windows 7 start menu search was like the best thing ever. If you typed something in it any file with that name in your PC would show up. Windows 8 and 10 started to incorporate web results. This was frustrating as I'm looking for a local file. I know it's there but why are you showing me results from the web first and not what I asked for?

Not in my experience. When I started using windows there was a new problem to fix every single time I turned it on. Either my second screen wouldn't work, one of my programs had some unknown issue and wouldn't start, windows updated AGAIN and changed my default settings even though I had auto updates off..... I thought. The worst was the drivers. My you driver was always in a battle with the os. You said it should be one thing and the os kept trying to auto update and say it's a different driver. This happen for 2 years until it crashed. I absolutely hated my windows experience. I just have a $2000 paperweight now. I switched to mac and Holy shit it's way better. Once you learn the differences it's so much more streamlined to do any task. Instead of trying to please everyone and make things complicated like windows they just make it one way and that's what you get, and it makes it work way smoother and faster. I've never had a crash or had to spend and hour trying to fix an issue like I did with windows every single time I turned it on. Windows is compatible with more things but macs work better and faster. One thing to add, I just work on my computer. For gaming then I would agree macs are no good for that but to just get work done macs are far better because they just work.

When I want to get to work in the morning I just start the computer and start the program and I'm at work in less than a minute.

@@errormachine5056 Windows 2nd Display Issues are More related with the Manufacturer and the HDMI Protocols than Windows Itself. Being amde Versatile, Windows Simply Uses the Manufacturer Provided Information Over HDMI and then set the Appropriate Drivers, and HDMI Protocols usually Clash with different Manufacturers and thier implementation methods. So Basically when the OS sometimes can't work on 2nd display, it's causr theDrivers don't recognise the Display because of the HDMI Protocol Clashes that happened during Connection, same goes for USB but USB is More firm than HDMI
@errormachine5056
@errormachine5056 2 жыл бұрын
@@prathamkalgutkar7538 I understand that. But that's also kind of my point. Windows tries to please everyone and make it work with everything. Then there comes these kinds of issues where it works but the next time I turn it on it doesn't . Whatever the reason. My mac, never had this issue. Hell, sidecar was the easiest thing I've ever used for multiple displays. Literally select the icon in the top right and select the display device and it works, done. That easy, never an issue. Honestly I'm still glad there are choices, different things do different things better. Gaming would be nearly pointless on a Mac, so it's nice to have that choice for gamers. And hobbyists too, macs are completed already but some people like to build their PC and it's good they have that choice. I do not want to build mine, so I'm glad I have my choice.

@@ivangiubilei9730 Yes. Proprietary industry leading software that ALOT of people and organisations rely on. If an OS doesn't have actual programs that people need, then it's pretty much useless. Think of like Windows on mobile. It died out because it didn't have app support. As for the much lesser used open source alternative softwares, you don't really need to switch to linux if you use them. They're all available on windows. Linux has a small fraction of the windows Steam library. Not to mention, Steam is one of the many other online game stores. Majority of which that are pretty much non existent on linux. I used to daily drive Linux distros for 6+ years. It's great but it also sucks in the many aspects that actually matter. I've permanently switched back to Windows. Undoubtedly, Windows has its share of problems but it's MUCH less of a headache than linux.

I used Mac OS for 8 years, then I switched to windows and functionality has never been easier. I love both os systems, however Mac OS makes it intentionally harder to do specific tasks, and make things customizeable. Whenever I have a problem with windows at least there is always a solution to find online, but it is more complicated for first time users and requires a greater more intimate knowledge of computers.

Seeing people fight over these absolutely insignificant differences gets me every time lollll. Y’all, it’s 2022, every mid/high end computer from both companies can get anything done well. It’s just preferences. Both have things that lightly annoy me and others that make me happy. I currently use Macos, but things still bother me about it. Also, as someone who’s used both his whole life, people love any opportunity to hate on apple just because it’s what gets attention. But news flash, it didn’t survive this long by simply having a niche blind cult following. Just like Microsoft, it’s a force to be retconned with, and there’s plenty of reasons why people love it. Grow up and use whatever you like. It’s okay to not love something but still acknowledge that it’s a good product.
