I get large sheets of plastic from mitre ten the plastic was used as wrapping for timber so I saved it from landfill and got it for free

Things flourish in my compost pile that I don't turn during winter. Usually potatoes. Have often wondered if I should mimic that around areas I want plants to survive the winter

Even in Melbourne's suburbs, we have had a couple of frosty nights. Luckily only our potatoes in pots have noticeable damage and they'll bounce back ok. I guess they are in the most exposed area of the garden. Cheers!

If you don't have many plants to protect you could try Drought Shield, it is meant to protect plants from light frost as well as sunburn

My water wands split like that with the frost, ice expanding inside. Have to put them away at night.

My husband has just finished building me my greenhouse. So I've put my banana trees in there to protect them from the frosts. We're getting 3 degree temperatures now. I hope I don't lose my mango tree..
