You could always take the hands off and when you put the mod podge on add the hands after the mp before it dries.

I'm thinking if you didn't like the look of the mechanism on the back you could paint it or even glue some felt over it just to give it a more "finished" look.

Love ❤these! Tip: Search on KZfaq “how to remove crown (that’s the little tab that moves the hands) from a watch” it will describe how to find the small hole to insert a straight pin or pointing item, to push the mechanism that releases the crown knob. That will prevent any possibility of breaking the watch face. Thanks for video 😊!
