Ever wondered why your upper control arms are inclined? That's Brake Dive geometry. This video is an excerpt of the "basics of wheel alignment". The video explains why and how to get your wheels aligned, especially after lifting your truck. This is another attempt of breaking down and simplifying complex auto tech in a way we all can understand.
This is a chapter in the LIFT KIT review video and lays the foundations of understanding, if you're trying to figure out how to get your wheels aligned.
Please remember - Every modification has a consequence and a compromise. Understanding the effects and side effects of what we do to our vehicles, will keep you safe and sure on the road and off the road.

Great info; now please address my grievance 🙏🏻. Do you have any idea about the alignment specs for the BS4? Cos none of the shops around me have BS6 settings in their machines and they can’t do a thing about it when I ask them to enter the values manually. Tell me if this is feasible- I just go ahead with the procedure and just set the values as per the owner’s manual whether the machine is giving red or green? 😑😑😑

Andamans had no alignment centre of the laser guided variety, except maybe one by JK tyres. I did some hand holding, encouraging them and helped them set it up to get my wheels aligned. So I feel your pain. I'm glad you brought this up - the issue of BS4 and BS6. What's more worrying is that quite a number of owners are trusting their alignment centres blindly and getting aligned to whatever specs are available "pre-fed" in the system, without realising that values are changed across the different Generations of Gurkha. I urge the good people to check which Model Year of Gurkha is fed into their systems Wheel Alignment Specs (Force Gurkha 2014) Caster 1.45' to 3.45' Camber -0.23' to 0.14' Toe 0.00' to 0.06' Wheel Alignment Specs (Force Gurkha 2017) Caster 1.30' to 2.30' Camber 0.15' to 1.45' Toe 0.05' to 1.05' Wheel Alignment Specs (Force Gurkha BS6) Caster (3.00') to (3.60') Camber (-0.04') to (0.16') Toe (-0.10') to (0.10') I once got an elegant alignment done at an old school wire and plumbline guy using first principles. Do you have one of those guys near you. I also use the laser system whenever available, depending on where I am. The laser optics is passive and actually does little in terms of forced correction based on chosen model of vehicle. It merely helps the chequered clamps to report millimeter precision changes to the optical sensor feeding to the computer which gives a nice looking graph based on pre-fed values. If nothing else works, remember the fundamentals we covered in this video. We are merely aligning the steering knuckle as intend - its just a relative game of UCA and LCA ball joints, which again reduces to just the two adjustment bolts. So go ahead and be colour blind. Use the laser jigs to report the values and set it up according to BS6 specs. Remember that some alignment centres use degrees and minutes for toe and some others use mm to indicate offset of toe from centreline axis of tire. I have listed both styles of measurements above. Hope this helps.
