I'm almost 33, have worked with children (age 6-10) and never wanted one myself. It's rather unlikely that this will change. I wanted to have cats as roommates for years, moved into a larger apartment last year and now have two furry roommates for 2,5 weeks. I love it! They are no practice pieces to see if I can take care for someone else than me. They are my buddies and loved. As long as you don't hurt anyone, live your life as you wish. @GeneralNickles
@GeneralNickles 3 жыл бұрын
I gotta disagree with that. All that "it's never too late to go back to school and follow your dreams" stuff sounds great on a poster, but it rarely works in real life. Here in reality, you're much better off sticking with a good paying job that you hate than quitting that to *attempt* to get a job you don't hate. Especially if getting said job is going to take years of school and training. You could've used those years getting further up the latter you were already on. And even after you quit your job, got a degree, and are now drowning in student loans, there's no guarantee that you'll actually get a job related to your degree. Quite often, people end up going back to the field they were working in before going back to school because the field there fancy new degree is in just isn't hiring.(or at the very least isn't hiring them.)

Neillay Divate you can always change. My eldest sister did a law degree, did that for a while, then decided to become an accountant (such an overachiever!). My middle sister was a professional orchestral musician and then changed to being a physiotherapist and is now a teacher (such drive and commitment). I did do a degree but that really wasn’t for me. I worked as a croupier for a while, then did stay at home mum, then went back to school to learn tailoring and worked in made to measure bridal wear for ages. And now I run a mobile animal farm...You can do what you want, then change, and do something else you want. Or be like Christine and do it all at the same time! I wish I had that energy.

I started out doing a two-year programming bootcamp because I wanted to get into the programming/developing field and after the first year I realized I really wanted to go back to college (I had done one semester of computer engineering at a university) but to do something different... I'd been working at this point and I really wanted to go into business and also tech, so I applied for university again and I'm about to graduate from a Bachelor's in Business Administration, and I start my Master's in Business Analytics and Data Science next year!! I'm 27 and I honestly feel like this has been the best decision for me, though I was super hesitant at first. Do you whatever you set your mind to!

Jen's right! I got laid off at 46 from a company for whom I'd worked for over 20 years. I changed careers and landed a great job with my county government. It can be done at any age, you just have to be willing to put the time and effort in, even if it means going to school while working a job just to pay the bills.
