suigi really isn't a runner that needs to bank on a new strat to wr lmao. He's far and away the best player in the world right now, and after he learns 120 star to match his standard, he'll easily be able to put down a low 1:36.

The people who were consistent but only within 30 seconds to a minute of the record are able to "consistently" get world record pace runs so those are happening now. We'll see if the less consistent but higher peak players like Cheese can bop them before suigi comes in and kills the category forever

@@brendanhart517 If performed perfectly carpetless can save like 70-80 seconds which is an insane time save for an almost perfectly optimized speed run game like this. Weegees old record was played more or less perfectly without carpetless and it already got smashed by 47 seconds. That's how powerful this new strat is.

For me a world record with a new tech or strategy always be improving. Since just "perfecting" the current strats end up killing any category. Weege, Cheese and you simply could attempt taking the wr with the new strat, and keep the game alive.

If he got the trick more or less down, absolutely. The teleporter would give him a lot of extra distance on the 1-up, and it might even get stuck on the walls/floor of the house since it would be coming from below. You could bail as well by long jumping down to the windy teleporter platform and resetting the 1-up's position before you teleport again. Way easier this way, because what made it nigh-impossible was the carpet.
