Directed by Andy Morahan (who later directed Fake and Home In Sicilly), this video was filmed in Seville, Spain and captured a sense of the European outlook that pervaded Britain in the early 1990's. "Something Got Me Started" is the first single released from British band Simply Red's 1991 album Stars. Stars is the fourth album by British-based pop/soul/jazz band Simply Red, released in September 1991. Five singles were released from the album, including the UK top ten hits "Stars" and "For Your Babies". The album was a worldwide success, particularly in the band's home country where it has been certified twelve times platinum.
Simply Red have over a billion hits on KZfaq, have sold over 60 million albums worldwide, 5 going to number one in the UK. Their 1991 classic Stars was the best-selling album for two years running in Britain and Europe. They have had two US Billboard chart toppers with classic singles Holding Back The Years and If You Don’t Know Me By Now. Every Simply Red studio album has been a UK top ten (with previous release Big Love reaching number 4 in 2015). Hucknall has been the songwriter and bandleader since the beginning in 1985.

I remember this tune coming on the radio as i drove out of Paris one summers night on my way down to South of France, gunning my old Citroen DS at full throttle on the Autoroute with the sun setting and that "life is great" feeling that only comes with youth and endless possibilities, where did all the time go my friends........................

Brilliant. a real masterpiece. Mick Hucknell is a legend and probably the most talented of UK artists. I am not sure if its just me getting old, but I dont seem to hear musicians of this quality these days.

This song is such a monster to this day! I have gotten nearly 24 years of chills from this song, from the very first time it hit the airwaves. Mick Hucknall is SOUL. It's in his voice ....and his hair! Love!

The most of video lost the first words "I love you" "Show me ". Yesterday I was at his concert in Lucca and he told perfectly in this way with two different voices! Incredible voice! Wonderful! Marvellous! Very sweet like a babies lullaby and after rock as a blues man! Great Mick!
