4x4 TrekOZ, off-road gear and good times. My channel covers, four wheel driving, chatting about off-road gear, camping, some fishing, a little cooking and good times. The plan is to talk to the camera like I am talking to you. My longer trips are more about the journey than the destination, staying one or two nights in each spot chatting as we go. Currently I work full time with retirement coming mid 2025. Until then my trips will be monthly, post retirement, I'm planing on living on the road for large parts of the year. I do my best to post 3 or 4 vids each month, post retirement I'm aiming to post twice each week. Welcome, I hope you enjoy. You can find me on Facebook, Instagram and KZfaq. Just search Wayne Groomes, Land and Bay Fishing or 4x4 TrekOZ Overland. Thanks for watching.

I'm loving that you've taken time to stop and record the wildlife you find. As others have said, too many 'outback' adventurers are more focussed on how hard they can make the drive, rather than stopping and really looking at what is around.

I'm sharing your videos, Wayne. Your production and editing are excellent, and you show the country in a unique way. No manufactured drama.

Such a refreshing change from the "We conquered the Simpson" type of videos where I always get the impression they're disappointed they're not breaking stuff every day. Your vehicle is well set up and you don't look like you abuse it by working it too hard overall.

Hope people dig a deep hole for those number 2s (paper is also a problem ) as the reason why dingoes are so common is they eat that human waste.Maybe its a good thing to populate the breed.

We are the most regulated and over governed country on the planet. SA parks like to regularly remind you of that fact, and that you need to pay your permits.

Thanks for your videos BUT burn your toilet waste... don’t just bury it no matter if you use biodegradable bags. Dingoes can still dig up the bags , and their content, and they end up all over the place. The bags probably take longer to “degrade” than toilet paper.

Never actually used a bag the entire trip across the Simpson. We were solo for the majority of it. Showed the bags in the video because not everyone travels on their own.

Thanks for the trip logistics run down - we use the folding Cleanwaste toilet too, including the Poo Powder and then carry the waste out with our rubbish. We're doing the Madigan Line in a fortnight and like your idea of burying solid waste in biodegradable bags, what brand/supplier are the ones you're using?

Just used eBay. Searched biodegradable camping bags.

The biodegradable bags are not the solution though - they can take a few years to break down. Those dingos typically check out your campsite after you leave then dig up your faeces

Yes I agree, after a bit of research their biodegradable rating is based on being in a fairly moist bacteria rich environment, once the desert dries out they could sit there for years...

DO NOT BURY “biodegradable plastic bags” all they do is breakdown to tiny particles of plastic, which contaminates they environment ends up in small marsupials then birds and animals that eat them. Look up the damage biodegradable plastics are doing to the oceans!

Nice production. I've just done the hay River track and madigan in May. It is beautiful. I like the way you comment on the way. And it's great your partner wants to do it as well. Well done. Ps did the ranger pull you up as you were coming into dalhousie?
