I bought this (with my own money) at Lowe's ON SALE thru 10-20-19 for $679.00. I can't speak about the longevity of this machine, but so far I'm impressed. I'll do a long term review after I've lived with for a while. Thanks for watching!

Next time soft wash your home, don’t pressure wash your home. Rinse with a garden hose. Apply the bleach and soap with a 2 gallon pump up sprayer. Pressure wash concrete with a surface cleaner not a wand. 36 “ wands are great. They allow one to stand up straight when surface cleaning. Shorter wands leave you hunched over the entire time. For just doing your own property you don’t need more than 2.5 GPM @ 3000 psi. You will do less damage. POWER washing is a hot water application. PRESSURE washing is a cold water application. Sorry for the bluntness. I don’t mean to criticize, I just mean to inform.

What does it matter what someone needs when they want something else? He didn't half-step, so he went ahead and got the 4gpm. He's probably like me and wouldn't have been satisfied with a 2.5 GPM machine when you know there's a 4gpm out there. I think he made the best decision and nobody knows what the future will bring. No matter what it is , he will be ready. Also, why would he wanna use a pump up sprayer when he could use his chemical injector ? You must do things the hard way.

got to say I just bought the same power washer. I received it this morning put the oil in it gased it up power washed my van as well as my front porch and walkway. I went back to the pressure washer and saw creamy colored goop on the ground. Water got into the pump oil chamber. When I received it and looked at the pump I saw the creamy color in the glass but even though I was a tad concerned I overlooked it beings it was new and never had a simpson before. Its obvious that they tested it as the hose had water in it. Now it's in the shop. It is a factory refurbished so I'm shocked they didn't catch that the pump was taking in water. To say the least I wasn't happy. I told the shop I took it to that I wanted a new pump as I wasn't confident the piston wasn't scored. The first shop said they wouldn't take warranty work from simpson and the second one wanted a deposit. Makes me feel Simpson doesn't have a good reputation with the venders they use. Sad.

Great review, although I would never recommend lowering the throttle. The pressure reduction valve/knob is there for a reason. Keep the full throttle and reduce the pressure via the dedicated knob as designed. This is also documented in the manual.

Small engines are designed to run at full throttle. Running a small engine at half throttle can damage them causes them to chug and not run in the rpm they are designed for.

Really? I am stuck choosing between this version and the one that actually has the Honda branded engine (which is almost twice the cost). Looks like Simpson also makes the Dewalt pressure washers and this model comes with a Honda engine and it costs $1049. I thought these were just clones of Honda engines? I'm sure it will work fine even if it is a clone but I can't help but lean towards the actual Honda version. If I knew for certain this was a Honda manufactured engine it sure would make the choice easy!

@@TheHandsOnChannel From what I've heard you should be able to get Honda parts to fit no problem. I don't know why I'm even considering the branded version when I know I'll probably never even get close to using it enough to worry about the engine. @@suburbanhobbyist2752 I really like mine so far. I think it has a 3 year warranty. The #1 thing to worry about is the pump.
