Part of your issue with the "Notch" while passing center, is due to you going from a profile with 900° in Alpha Manager, to one with 1080° without re-calibrating the wheel in game. This will cause Linearity issues and can create a "Notch". This notchy feeling you experienced is only present in iRacing, no other game has this. This is due to the inferior 60hz signal coming from the game which needs a lot of Interpolation/Smoothing. This is also why this issue isn't present when using iRFFB. Every other game is smooth as silk, the hardware has no notches whatsoever. This is an iRacing issue in itself, which is why users tend to use iRFFB to clean things up and fill in the missing gaps. Anyway, Thanks for the Review, your Hardware section is great as always.

It's nice to see DD wheels are coming down in price and advancing simracing technology. Even though I think belt driven wheelbases still have their place, but they need to be priced lower (~200-350 EUR). Low entry DD wheels 500-700 - which is already happening. And then the sky is the limit. I have my personal grievances with Fanatec (the firm) and their DD, I think 0.5DD is their way to get you hooked into their ecosystem. But anyhow, it's a good entry wheel for those who have tried simracing with lower tier wheel and fell in love with the hobby. SiMagic when it first came on my radar, I was excited to see more competition in DD space. And they continue to deliver. I love this channel. Smooth voice of Barry is almost ASMR brain therapy.

What's really nice about the adjustment system with the side bracket at 39:25 is that it means you can make sure each side is perfectly even, where as if it was just one big long slot on each side, you would have to make sure it's level yourself

I've had my Mini + GT4 dual clutches bundle for about 2 weeks now and I have to say that it has been worth Absolutely every penny for me. Only complaint is I wish my grips weren't Alcantara (I dislike wearing gloves while gaming and I don't wanna have to take care of it so much.) Highly recommend it and remember to support more companies than just Fanatec! Only real problem I've heard of is that there is play within the optional mount they sell, which is unfortunate.

I'm in doubt about where to adjust the flywheel resistance (flywheel weight). I didn't find the option in SimPro Manager. I saw that in the old software there was this option. Wouldn't it be possible to adjust in the new version? thank you if you know how to help (Alfa 15Nm)

Good stuff as usual. But I noticed during your gameplay that your screens seem way bigger than 27" as stated in your description. What are you running and why no bezel kit which seems to be the norm on high end rigs?

Well, the Simagic has better compatibility with third party steering wheels (lower and higher quality compared with Fanatec wheels). It also has a better finished, wireless system (which fanatec doesn´t need and works as it would be wireless), much better quick release (this one is amazing), a very interesting controller software full of options, ... Fanatec has nice pros as well but I´d bet for Simagic.

So what I've taken out from this is that it's somewhat a DIY base where you have to spend time and really know how to set it up properly. Not everyone KNOWS how it's supposed to feel. This is the problem I have with many wheels, I do not want to mess with settings and learn what each and every one of them do, just make a DD base that is setup correctly from factory that gives you a realistic experience. Not everyone is a racecar driver that wants to practice at home and knows how a real racecar should feel like lol :)
@michael1
@michael1 11 ай бұрын
It's subjective. Realistic isn't relevant either because the whole point of FFB is giving you information that you don't get sitting in a race car but you need playing a sim because you're not in a real car on a track. Note, exactly the same thing happens for any other wheel it's not a feature of DD. You'll note that once a wheel has a reasonable user base there'll be plenty of people sharing settings (in the same way there are plenty of custom ffb profiles for the games)

Simple, CLS DD. Buying the CLS DD is like bringing money to the bank. I am gonna enjoy every second of my pre-ordered CLS DD with 8NM boostkit for 479 euro, and am quit sure I will get 400-425 euro back when I'm ready for the next step up.

@@T3KNOSIS EDIT: WEBSITE NOW UPDATED TO REFLECT THAT THE GT1-R WHEEL IS INDEED INCLUDED! Original post: 1) The picture is of the Alpha Mini DD only; there is no GT1-R picture. 2) At the ALPHA page (not Mini) the description clearly states: "SIMAGIC ALPHA + GT1-R STEERING WHEEL" and the SKU reads: "SIMAGIC_ALPHA_GT1SR". With the Alpha Mini it only states: "SIMAGIC ALPHA MINI - 1 Yr Warranty" and the SKU reads: "ALPHA_MINI". Someone REALLY needs to call them and find out if the WHEEL is indeed included or NOT!

I've made an appointment with my local retailer to test this out (technically I've already decided I want to buy it). Is there a handy list of what each setting does in the app? I cancelled my pre-order for the CSL-DD. Shipping it in from Australia is going to add a few more hundred dollars in delivery and taxes, which destroys the whole value proposition. And I shudder at the thought of getting after sales support. With a Simagic local retailer, it's an easy choice for me.
