I know this video is old AF but like thanks for making it because A: I wanted a house with an Underground Garage. and B: you just gave me a sweet idea for an Apartment Building of some sort. Now if only they had a copy paste feature....

one of the only things i miss from sims 2 is the sims actually getting into the cars. so much more realistic. i don't even make garages now. if i'm playing a small lot, i make a basement and put the parking spaces there.

I think it's called "flat wall" with white coloring. I think it's available in the wall coverings in build mode.

I don't know why I can't change the height of the terrain on the floor (you start it at 1:11). I tried first like you, and then first formed the terrain and then the floor. Unfortunately, the floor evened out the entire slope. How can it be done to have such a beautiful driveway as you?

I agree with CityFlashLights. Just showing you doing it doesn't really help much since the video is sped up. A list of instruction would be nice. Also can you go more than the 3 stairs down?

All u have to do is watch what tools he uses. whilst building the garage. Simples. It won't be done asap but u will learn by looking at his cursor and the buttons that he clicks on. Great video btw FlorianBayer

for any1 who doesnt no U CAN FOLLOW ALONG WITH HIM U DO IT BY PRESSING THE WINDOWS BUTTON (the 1 u press to make that start thing cum up) AND THEN U CLICK OFF THE START THING AND U GO ON2 UR INTERNET AND GO ON KZfaq (ur sims 3 will b minimized) AND THEN U SWAP BETWEEN THE 2 (u pause the vid b4 u go on2 the sims-its a bit obvious)

Well, I did this and it worked a treat. Until my family moved in and now the garage and driveway are under water. Where the hell did the water come from and how do I get rid of it??? I was so chuffed I managed to do this and it looked great. So disappointed that it's now basically a swimming pool

I know this is four years late, but hopefully someone can find this information useful: What you experienced is what happens when you try to attach walls at various floor elevation levels. (For example: One wall might be a meter higher than the other.) By default, the game will automatically correct the floor elevation. However, when you enter the cheat [constrainfloorelevation false], you effectively tell the game "Don't change the ground automatically for me; I'll do it myself." I'm assuming you had [constrainfloorelevation false] on, and were creating a new foundation from an empty space, and connecting it to an already-existing wall/foundation. If the level of the ground you're starting your new foundation on is different than the level of the ground on which the other foundation is, you'll get the error message "Cannot intersect wall". To fix this problem: Use the [constrainfloorelevation false] cheat, create your new foundations from the wall/foundation you're trying to attach it to. What this does is ensure the ground level is the same between both sections of foundation.

omg I was able to do it the first time. but then I disabled constrainfloorelevation and now, I cant build the foundation without it saying "cant level terrain" or making it look completely wrong. Helpp

That's the purpose of the [constrainfloorelevation false] cheat. Builders will commonly be turning that cheat on and off as they try to create more complex designs.

i did this in half an hour... i followed 90% of the tutorial, not 100% bcs at 01:00 i couldnt do that with the floor, so i had to remove the floor, did that and then put the floor... besides that this was rly a great tutorial
