I know this sucks for this guy. He seems like a great guy. I hope there is a way he can get that felony off his record. The thing I don't like is that if he agrees to give up the name of who he bought the pills from, everyone is going to know that he talked. That's not a good way to get people to talk. That could be a way to end up dead.

I sure hope he gets everything together and remains clean.

I’m viewing. These videos remind me how vulnerable troopers are. I wish 2 things for the troopers in Arkansas. 1- they use gloves when searching vehicles 2- that they have body cams in addition to the dash cams.

I don't usually sympathize with people who commit crimes, but this guy needs a lawyer to advise him, not a patrol cop who quotes the worst possible penalties for the offense the dude is charged with. My nephew is a public defender and his job is twice as hard when the defendant tried to "help himself" on the street while in the back seat of a cruiser.

This cop knew their was a good chance of this video finding it's way on KZfaq and made sure to keep pushing the issue of him snitching. That was wrong of him in my opinion.

I really hope things work out for this guy, he didn't blame the officer for picking him up like other ones do. He was polite & didn't loose his cool. I wasn't impressed with his gf who didn't even seem worried about him, asked few questions & this was his first arrest. If anything I 'm angry at her. I also wish this video only showed the stop, as he now has a big decision to make & it might be life altering. 😢

Wow, this guy is just having one of those days that rolls bad to worse. Fighting with his "old lady," car ran out of gas, and then a seatbelt violation catches him out with weed, ecstasy (which I didn't realize was still available), and a firearm! He remained relatively calm, though, which is more than a lot of them do. PS, I ain't did nothing, call my momma!

I fail to see any probable cause for searching that vehicle for a simple seat belt violation. So unless I missed something, this should have been a simple ticket, or a warning. Again, what was the probable cause to search the vehicle or even take this guy out of his vehicle?

man, they sure are quick to try and get you to "help yourself out" i was offered the same preposition when i got arrested for felony drug charges 10+ years ago. i told them thanks but no thanks, that type of behavior doesnt fly with me. if you get in trouble, you have no one to blame but yourself, so take your punishment. the only people that win when someone snitches, is the cops.

That was difficult, with the 'snitch' talk. He had already known there was a camera. Although I don't know the whole story (with the gas excuse, the 'neighbors' gun, and the drugs), I did feel some sympathy for the guy.

Although I appreciate the this is publically available, I'm not sure that it should be, when the guy has been having a frank conversation with the trooper about potentially dobbing his suppliers in to the feds. I'm guessing that he chose not to go that route in the end, else it probably wouldn't have been released, but making the discussion publically available could still get him secondary punishment, possibly much worse that the punishment handed down by the law. I personally feel that it's something that shouldn't have been released.

A series of unfortunate events in this one. The guy seems to be a nice person trying to make it, but some of the conversations between him and Trooper Harper should not have been made public, IMHO.

15:08 Folks, this is a perfect example of why you should be careful when borrowing someone else's car. If you do, it's never a good idea to consent to a search because unless you searched the car throughly, you are rolling the dice with your life/career should you get pulled over and they find something illegal. Even when it's you're own vehicle I would not consent to a search. Just keep in mind that not giving consent does not prevent the officer/s from searching if they feel they have probable cause/reasonable suspicion. Not giving consent to a search just provides some measure of legal protection should something be found. That said, Arkansas police must establish probable cause prior to searching a vehicle without a warrant. Evidence must have been obtained legally from a vehicle for prosecutors to introduce it in an Arkansas criminal trial. Important to keep in mind. Searching a vehicle is legal if 1) the officer has reasonable suspicion of criminal conduct which justifies stopping the car or 2) the driver gives consent for the search. Whatever you do DO NOT interfere with the officer/search if they decide to search. Comply with the officer and offer no resistance. You dont want anything you say or do to be filmed and later used against you in court. Any issues/concerns during the traffic stop should be brought up in court. Not on the side of the road where things could unnecessarily escelate quickly out of control . Not only will you be facing additional charges but could be risking injury/death. Comply with officers requests/commands and fight the matter in court. Your criminal defense attorney should try to establish that the officer’s vehicle search violated the Fourth Amendment. The Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution prohibits the unreasonable search and seizure of persons or their belongings. If an officer searches your car, in violation of the rules explained above, then the officer will have violated the Fourth Amendment. When evidence is collected in violation of the 4th amendment then your attorney can request that such evidence not be introduced in an Arkansas criminal court. A court, however, will not exclude the evidence on its own. Your attorney must file a “Motion to Suppress” to request that the Court disallow the evidence. Hiring an attorney who understands these issues is crucial to many criminal prosecutions such as matters involving drug related charges, marijuana offenses, or other issues involving search and seizure. If you feel your rights were violated during a vehicle stop then you should contact a criminal attorney in your state/local area. "If you cannot afford an attorney one will be provided for you." I'm on the fence about this one I believe the guy all the way everything he said until about the gun. How do you know there is not a gun in your vehicle and your neighbor put it in there. There has to be a human aspect to this. He's never been arrested I couldn't understand when he said the girlfriend is in a brand new blue Armada but she doesn't have enough gas money and he has to give her $15 that didn't make any sense. Just trying to connect the dots. However I wish him the best he did seem very respectful and he knew he screwed up. I think he's in a lot of pain from his fall broken hip.

If your committing serious crimes, wear your seatbelt, stop at stop signs, don't speed, and don't be on your phone. Everyone should abide by those rules but everyone won't go to prison if they don't.

I know the decision to 'talk' is difficult; however, he needs to weigh his options. Think about this 'friend' who gave him the pills. Is he a GOOD friend? Would this 'friend' go to prison for him? He can always talk to the detectives and get more info on how it would play out. If his friend would just be talked to and not charged, it might be his best option.

if he had OBEYED the law none of this would have happened. wearing the seatbelt would have saved him from being stopped. not having weed or ecstasy might have prevented a search. i always wear my seatbelt and i dont do drugs. his day went from bad to worse because he CHOSE not to wear a seatbelt and CHOSE to carry weed and ecstasy on him.

I'm on the fence about this fellow; He's respectful and polite, seems to have a good job, has a sweetie in his life and probably kids, has had major surgeries in the past 2 years, but he's also carrying those pills and someone's firearm... I wouldn't add the weed to his charges but if he is as dedicated to his job and family as it seems, he shouldn't do things that he knows will get him in trouble. Maybe he needs a little wakeup reminder but it doesn't seem like his life should be blown up over a few mistakes. I guess that's why there are judges. 🙃

This is how a bunch of minor things turn into one big thing, a gun and drugs felony. He forgot a lot, neighbor's gun, pills in pocket, seat belt, while determined to get gas for his car via a truck without updated registration and insurance.
