Far as I remember, each of these stories (or all of them except Dwights) end in the death of the character narrating. So I'm fairly certain the narration is sort of like a "death poem". Them recalling their lifes in the last moments.

Would you consider yourself to be a good person? How many lies have you told, and what do you call someone who lies? Have you ever stolen something, and what do you call someone who steals? Have you ever taken God’s name in vain (very serious; in Old Testament times, the Jews wouldn’t even say the name of God for fear of blasphemy) - even ‘OMG’? One more: Jesus said whoever looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery in his heart; have you ever looked with lust? Well I’m not judging you - but if you’ve done these things then you’re a liar, thief, blasphemer and adulterer-at-heart; that’s how seriously God takes sin. He is Holy (perfectly good/righteous and separate from sin) which means that H e is perfect in justice - and if He were to judge you by the moral law (we’ve already looked at 4 commandments) would you be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? The answer is hell - the wrath of God upon you for your sin. Is that concerning? But fortunately, God’s will is not that you perish. He wants all men everywhere to be saved. So do you know what He did for us guilty sinners? In self-giving mercy, He sent His Son Jesus Christ. He lived the perfect life that we should have lived - tempted at all points and yet He NEVER sinned. Through His life, being in very nature God, He revealed God to men; but we in our hatred condemned Him to death. On that cross as Jesus suffered, He took on the sin of the world and was judged in our place; receiving God’s wrath. You and I broke God’s law, but Jesus paid the fine. God can justly forgive us. On that cross He died, then He was buried, but 3 days later He was raised from the dead - conquering death and Hell and ushering in The Kingdom of God. He then ascended to the right hand of God the Father (where He came from) now Lord of the living and the dead. God has fixed a date when He will judge the world in righteousness. What you need to do is repent (In humility, acknowledge your sin before God and turn to a relationship with Him) and trust ALONE in Jesus Christ and His work on the cross; and God will grant you the gift of the Holy Spirit. Then be baptised. When you place your trust in Jesus - the Lord and Saviour - these things will happen: 1) God will forgive the sins that you have committed; they were paid for by Jesus at the cross. 2) The perfect life that Jesus lived will be credited to you. He will find you holy and blameless on judgement day (and now), as Christ’s righteousness covers you. 3) You receive a place in Christ’s kingdom as an adopted child of God. God becomes your Father. Eternal life isn’t just about living forever, but a personal relationship with God Himself. That life can start now; The Father will reveal Himself to you if you seek Him. 4) God doesn’t just save you from the penalty of your sin (Hell). He can save you from the power of sin itself. Whoever practices sin is a slave of sin; but when you repent and believe the gospel [WHICH HAS BEEN DESCRIBED] the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in you and sanctify you (working in you to further abandon sin and turn to the will of God). When the end of the age comes, and eternity begins, this work will be brought to completion as you are finally freed from the presence of sin. Jesus offers to take away your sin and to give you His righteousness; you must receive it by faith. Choose this day if you will align with the world, or with Jesus and His kingdom - only His is eternal. ROMANS 10:9 - If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

@@michaal105 Jesus is the most selfish person ever to have lived. He died quicker than almost anyone else ever crucified on a cross (and there were a lot of them) dying in just a few hours. Most took a few days to die die. Jesus also knew what awaited him at his death, having direct contact with god, and all you have is speculation based on a book written 300 years after the man died. And for Jesus' "wonderful" sacrifice for our sins, he made it so you have to acknowledge his sacrifice, or it sucks to be you. Born on an island that has no possible way to even know what a jesus is? Hell for you than. Gandhi? Great man, but Hindu, damn, he'd a been a nice catch, but nope. Straight to hell. Hitler? Butcherer of millions? Devout Christian, absolutely believed in jesus, guess he gets in. As long as you give proper head to jesus, you can get in, or its hell for you. A truly selfless act would be to do something for everyone, even if you don't get the credit. To die for EVERYONE, weather they believe in you or not, that is truly just, truly selfless. You can keep your "Justice", thanks.
@michaal105
@michaal105 2 жыл бұрын
@@VonDelacroix Hitler was an atheist who believed in evolution. Not a devout Christian. You should touch up on your research. You should also actually read the gospels before judging the claims within. And keep in mind that what you or I believe/want to be the truth is COMPLETELY irrelevant to the question of whether or not God exists. That question has an absolute answer - and that won't change from person to person. He either does or doesn't, so don't let your faith (or lack of it) be based on feelings. Instead look at logic and evidence. Considering the fact that atheism leaves you with the scientific and logical impossibility that nothing created everything, it would be unwise to believe it. It's a scientifically and logically IMPOSSIBLE. Don't let that pass you over; think about it.

Yeah.. Because this role is such a stretch from his character history. A grizzled tough guy cop. He's an actor in the same way Will Smith is an actor. Or arnie. Hollywood meat puppets. Recognisable Place fillers on screen that rarely take anything out of their comfort zone, and virtually never seen in an unflattering role. I like the guy, don't get me wrong, but I don't rate him as an actor in the professional sense. Could you see him playing a flamboyant gay man? Could you see him playing a snivelling coward with a speech impediment? A true psychotic - a sadist who barely understands emotions? No. Guys like him always play roles within a very narrow band. They can't even affect a different accent.

kingofthehamsters its true that it is like that nowadays. But if you take a look at older movies from before 2000 its actually pretty different. Look at the fifth element, pulp fiction and 12 monkeys for bruce willis. All different roles and characters, played very very well.

@@kingofthehamsters Actors get cast for the roles they play best. Doesn't make them any more or less of an actor as somebody else. They're doing what they know. Bruce could probably do one of those kinds of roles and then you'd bitch he didn't do it well. Then you'll come back and appreciate movies like Sin City, where Bruce being cast for this role was nothing short of perfection.

@@kingofthehamsters You can only say that if all you've seen from Bruce Willis are the "Die Hard" movies, "The Last Boyscout", and whatever he does these days just for the money (he clearly doesn't care anymore). How about "Pulp Fiction", "12 Monkeys", "The Jackal", "Death Becomes Her", "The Sixth Sense", "Color of Night", "Unbreakable", "The Whole Nine Yards", and "The Bonfire of the Vanities" (just to name a few)? Before "Die Hard", he was actually considered a TV comedy actor and the producers were uncomfortable with casting him as John McClane.
