It's funny how little things like hotdogs can mean more then then they are. I recently lost my Mom who was from West Detroit but when I eat a dog "Coney Island" style I think of her each time. Little things matter

I lost my mom a few years ago and I lived in Newark as a little kid. We used to walk up Bloomfield Ave all the time and would stop at the hot dog truck. This video got me especially when the soft music played 😢.

I grew up in the area. The JJ’s truck has been a legend for years! They even opened a storefront on Route 46 in Fairfield. The Hookup is my favorite & I also enjoy the Belly Buster. Unfortunately the owner passed away recently & the Fairfield location hasn’t been open much.

JJs was definitely a spot to hit in the middle of the night after a night of partying. Also try Dickie Dees Italian hotdogs. They are also located in Newark on Bloomfield Ave. They are across the way from Calandras bakery so make sure to stop and grab some delicious bread from them too before you leave the area. The absolute best French bread!

@JLJupiter you got to hit Hawthorne Deli on Hawthorne Ave in Newark NJ. Black owned and a hefty selection of hefty sandwiches for a good price. I would say Bragmans delicatessen but unfortunately they are permanently closed.

Essex County, NJ native here (West Orange!). J.J.'s is famous. As a teen in the 1980's, it was the place to go after a late night of partying for some delicious cheese dogs.

Cole slaw and chili is a West Virginia style hotdog. They're great! The cream cheese hot dog is a Seattle thing. Nice to see the love spread all over! Chili, kraut, mustard and ketchup is my favourite and the best one is from the Dew Drop Inn in Mobile, AL (home of Jimmy Buffet's cheeseburger in paradise!).

Man there is nothing like a fully loaded involved hotdog. There is this place called Seville Quarter in cozy Pensacola, FL. It's a night club with several different themed bars within its confines. At the end of the night as your exiting the building there was this hotdog vendor stationed right outside, you can't miss it. $3 for 2 your way. Always got mine fully loaded to end the night. The coveted "Seville Hotdog" was reason alone to leave the house for a night out, even if you weren't in the mood. It was something to look forward to. The humble hotdog still has a place in the culinary spectrum.

JJ's been around for years they always been one of the best around especially back in the '80s I was in Newark cop for 23 years and I lived in Forest hills so I always went there the only other one I would go to was Tony's they were them two had the best hot dogs with Tony sold his hot dog truck to someone else and they're not the same JJ's we used to leave studio One back in the day and he be out there we go there before we hit the clubs hang out with our cars yeah I'm in Cali but I'll be heading up back to Jersey in a couple months and I will go there and get some 👍❤️

Personally I put Rutts Hutt in there own class, possibly best hot dog on earth.... but deep fried is a different league, these guys are great as well but different style. Pro tip: Rutts has killer cups of homemade chili .....you just need to order a cup of chili with your dogs then I go mustard and chili rippers, forget about it lol
