In this video, me and Exploring With Josh are taking our Beyond The Dark show to Weston, West Virginia, to explore and investigate the haunted Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. This insane asylum has a dark history of practicing medical experiments such as lobotomies on patients, murders among both patients and staff, civil war raids, gold robbery, escapes using guards as hostages, and so much more. To find out if this place is really haunted, we’re going to be locked inside OVERNIGHT. Once we’re in, they lock the doors. There’s no turning back. As we start our paranormal investigation, the spirits make our equipment read the number 666, and they say it out loud too! We hear doors slamming, footsteps, voices speaking out loud, and even some whispering in our ears. I even had my own terrifying experience in the criminally insane ward...

I grew up here when it was still up and running and it was beyond terrifying as a kid. I had a lot happen to me when I did the ghost hunt back in 2010 and it made me a believer. Well done 👍🏻

They have events every year in October, the use the ballroom for a party and costume contests. They do battle of the bands and generic wrestling matches . They also do flashlight tours. Over night stays and they have oddly enough zombie paintball. Which is a blast. This place never disappoints. Very active , dark history that's gets monopolized on every year. I have some photos from probably 2008 of a little girl silhouette and a nurse figure in a nurses station. This place is the real deal. No doubt.

not trying to bash on anybody but it's really sad when a spirit asks for "help" and a ghost hunter says "we'll try to help" when in reality they have no intentions of actually doing so. sort of borderline disrespectful. wouldn't be surprised if that's the reason ghosts decide to stop communicating with people who do that.... just a thought.

Yeah I don't think it's okay either and maybe DON'T say you're gonna help if u don't have any idea how to but DEF don't say it if u have no intentions. The worst is when it's a family and all some do is make things wore because they just selfishly want content for THEIR benefit. I don't see three guys going to people wanting help but maybe don't include ghosts asking for help either unless u are planing on helping somehow. BUT I have seen it where it is but the investigators who won't help but it's because the actual OWNERS don't allow it. And of course most if they won't allow u to move someone on or help it's because they want it to stay haunted but then a few won't want u doing anything that could open portals or make things worse. Maybe some even are made to sign something... So I guess it's why I've always wanted to secretly nice them on off camera esp. where owners are stopping it for sick reasons and for monitary gain

That's interesting because I just commented a kind of similar comment on a more recent video of theirs. What bothered me is when they were gushing over the fact that they could hear, "help" so clearly but that spirit could have genuinely meant it and watched/heard them playing it over and over ._.

Really interesting and heartbreaking to watch. Ararat Lunatic Asylum in Victoria, Australia has a similar emergence and background. Done a tour there and lots of energy. If you guys ever come to Australia, maybe this is somewhere to visit? (Got some creepy photos too!!). Love your work 😁

People forget they still do a form of electroshock I know someone who had it done and he lost almost a full year of his memories. They did 2 sessions on him after the first one he showed sines of memory loss witch he never completely got back. After the 2nd one, he could not talk he knows sign language and he had to use it. it took him 2 months after to be able to talk again.

E.C.T. is a brutal thing the mental health industry tends to push onto people(myself included). I luckily was able to Opt out of the decision because my best friend 5 years ago got the same order for her to get shock therapy...several sessions later she lost decades worth memories and doesn't remember who I am, doesn't remember her wedding day, nor the birth of her child.... Its a fuckin horrible thing to go through and to watch others have to go through it....

My 90 year old grandmother had that done to her back in the 80s so many precious memories of her youth with her parents were lost forever. She occasionally still gets nightmares 40 years later, it was beyond traumatic that talking about it will make her cry.

When they were listening to the Evp recording and they asked "are you a patient?" And they thought it said "a patient" back, I think it was Kacy coughing, it matches up. Anyone else think this?

When you got into the room where crazy people were. It said “Help, Help.” that means the person might have been attacked! Thats my thought on that, then it said “Whos watching us?” Then the music box went off, I think that something or someone walked in the room to make them say that. So that means someone came in but they don’t know who or they didnt know Josh because they said Seth’s name and Joe’s name so they might have not known Josh’s name. These are my theories! -Ace

My grandmothers house was made in the 1800s . There was a family that lived there, I don’t know how they died but there is a little girl that hunts all the children in my family (including me) she doesn’t leave you alone till you turn 13. She is a very nice spirt though. I have seen her in my room before (at my grandmother’s) here is one of the story’s that happened when my mom was a kid: one day in 1989 my aunt’s friend and her mom was coming to pick my aunt up (she was 6 at the time) and my grand father went outside and the mom said “why wouldn’t Sarah come out?” But my grandfather said that Sarah is not home yet. (Btw Sarah is my aunt.) then the mom said “yes she is I saw her looking out the window” my mom knew who she was talking about. She was talking about the little girl who used to live there and sings to the children at night.

Or at least that's my opinion.
