Singapore Airlines Ordered To Pay Passengers $3,500 For Seat Recline Fail On 4-Hour Flight

As first reported by the Straits Times, India’s District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Hyderabad ordered Singapore Airlines (SIA) to pay a sum of 200,000 rupees ($2,398.12) and lawsuit costs. The decision comes after the business class seats of two customers could not recline.

They didn’t pay that themselves out of choice. That’s what the court/consumer watchdog ordered them to pay.

Singapore airlines was too friendly, specially because it was possible to recline the seat manually. Most airlines wouldn’t accept to pay this. I fly business class and I know that lay flat bed is the best part of the experience but “mental suffering” because of the seat recline malfunction is too much. 😅

Sadly this does not surprise me……for many reasons. Unexpected things happen and , in this case, the airline was more than gracious. If the flight was of significant length I could understand. But 4 HOURS…………Please!!!!
