Singapore has just recently reopened, and we thought that walking all around Little India, Chinatown, and the Marina Bay Sands area would be the perfect way to spend a day. We were right, but Josh's feet needed a bit of "help" from the local foot specialists lol

Singapore Chinatown is a beautiful area. Singapore marina bay sands is another beautiful area. Singapore little India is so full of colors and amazing food. We love doing a Singapore walking tour! Singapore Chinatown has amazing foot reflexology and massages. Chinatown massages and foot reflexology is so cheap. Making a travel vlog in Singapore during the pandemic is an amazing and beautiful thing to do. Singapore walking tour and street food tour is a must!

Singapore certainly is the center of unique architecture. I'd love to see those buildings in person and was so captivated by the city watching Crazy Rich Asians too! Great book series, btw. Not sure I'd embrace that humidity though. Yikes! Oh, and Josh, it's Louis Armstrong who made 'What a Wonderful World' the classic it is. I only know that because I'm older than dirt ... LOL. Hope you go get that $20 drink for the view!

Singapore is awesome. I was there in the 70s a very different place. I was there at Christmas 4 years ago. Love Maxwell food centre. China town so empty, strange. Bugis street was very different in the 70s. Singapore is a beautiful modern city and so clean. If you go back go for Christmas, it's unreal and Orchard road is amazing with the big lights. Glad you liked Melbourne, which is now my home town.

You've made some correct observations. Enclaves along racial lines were deliberately gotten rid of by the government. It's in the policy on everything to mix the races in public housing, schools etc. And urban planning was on the entire island scale, one feature was for each area to be sufficient so that the residents don't have to deliberately travel far for anything.

There seems to be an “ inner pride “ about Singapore. Not in keeping pristine, but like the street art, keeping it “ at its best “. I have heard some critics say it is artificial. How does it feel to you?
@LisaAndJosh
@LisaAndJosh 2 жыл бұрын
i would say that it felt more like the majority of people knew that they were living in a smaller area, so it was kinda everyone's job to make sure things stayed clean and in working condition. i could definitely see that coming off as pride, but it felt more like just being mindful of the shared home if that makes sense

SG is an extremely small city-island state, it is practically impossible to keep every aspect in pristine while trying to strike a balance with the country’s developments. In fact, a lot of historical sites/monuments were being well-preserved and maintained rather than neglecting them, of course, there are some people who prefer the latter.

We visited Singapore twice. I loved our visits but I don't think that I would want to go now having to wear a suffocating mask in the heat and not being able to go into the Hawker center being jab free.
@LisaAndJosh
@LisaAndJosh 2 жыл бұрын
we did still think it was worth it - the mask was pretty hot, for sure - but if you aren't vaccinated, you won't really be able to go anywhere, or do anything, so probably not a good time to go.

Hi thanks for your V logs they’re very very good please keep them coming I have to say though I disagree with your view on cities that become diverse and multicultural the more a city becomes diverse multicultural the more it loses its own culture is that what we really want to see to happen to the world where the world countries lose their own culture? Thanks
@LisaAndJosh
@LisaAndJosh 2 жыл бұрын
It's a careful balance for sure - accepting the new while not losing what was there already. We could make a whole video on just that topic - it's a complicated and touchy one for sure.

@@user-vt5ln7qq4j I guess Singapore is lucky to have only three races when you look at a city like New York or London London is no longer in English city due to multiculturalism is that what really you want is for England to lose her identity and culture?
