I love how Mitch and Kirstin (and Kevin for 1 song) take on the pure notes and leave Scott to do the "dirty work". I also like how Kevin is the beatboxer, but Avi takes runs at "bass boxing". They are a TRUE talent. Then Scott drops in for a clean "Make a better place"... And your "what note was that" isn't even Mitch's HIGHEST note... He and Kirstin have a whistle-note competition on one of their "fun" videos that shows just how much they hold back.

And Scott is even "holding back" on some of his solos here, keeping it gentle so as not to get too out of scale with how MJ sang.

Always amazes me at they can transition so easily. Their uniqueness individually combined with their ability to create blending harmonies as well cross harmonies always sets them far above any others.

This is one of my favorite Evolution videos. I also like their Evolution of Beyonce medley and Evolution of Music, which covers dozens of songs from the 11th century to 2013! I'll bet you got countless comments on who Kevin is - and now that you know the bass in this video is Avi Kaplan, you have to learn the name of their current bass - Matt Sallee! Avi left in late 2017, the only change in their line-up, and Matt has been the bass in all their videos since.

They have a few of these evolution videos. They are always one take and, yes, Kevin’s beatboxing is insane here with all of those changes. “Gold” is also a must watch. Great reaction, btw.

The TRIO in the back are Mitch, Scott and Kirstie In the FRONT guy with the beard is Avi (Ah-vee) he is the bass. Kevin is the beatboxer!!!!

I think that some of their covers can get overlooked because they make everything look so easy. And a more 'recent' one (within last year) they did was the cover of Can You Feel the Love Tonight from the Lion King. Each one gets to shine, going through key changes, Kirstie has a good amount of time that she sings, and of course they always have 1 or 2 surprises and I'll give you a clue to who it is...he looks different in a lot of videos! lol

I previously mentioned that you should check out Mitch's "AHA, Singapore"...couple of points to know that there are 3 versions. 1. AHA, Singapore was filmed live at a concert by a fan's cell phone and is quite remarkable that it captured the sound pretty well. Also, in this case, the song starts out without Kevin as he did a Cello solo performance just prior to this, so he was putting away the Cello. They started without him, but noticed that Mitch & Scott were at the right of the stage, but shortly moved to the left center...that's when Kevin came on stage, but you won't see him. 2. AHA song occurred at other concerts in US (San Diego is best), but the drama wasn't as dynamic. 3. Then, there is a video production where they sang this song (cover of Imogen Heap) , and was really good (starts with people sitting around a camp fire), but has a different approach and it doesn't highlight Mitch as much. BTW, don't forget about Kevin's solo of "Down"

Check out Kevin's solo work, either 'Down' or 'Sign of the Times'. You'll never have trouble remembering his name after that. 😂 Also, since Mitch impressed you in this video, it's time you watched their cover of Aha at Star Vista. It's a cell phone capture, sure, but it's one of the best.

Kevin doesn’t do low notes he is a tenor in addition to being the beatboxer. Avi is the bass. I think you have the right member but the wrong names LOL

So glad you enjoyed this :-) If you really want to be blown away with Mitch's high range and facility with moving quickly and seamlessly between his registers, watch "Defying Gravity" from Superfruit (Mitch and Scott's vlog channel) They are so good but know how to have fun - did it to celebrate Scott's birthday :-)

For Avi low notes and Mitch high notes you should watch Aha! live in Singapore, Mitch was on fire that night and Avi blew out the speakers! (you can hear Kevin's beatboxing but he never appears in-frame for this song, he was putting away his cello at the beginning and then the camera stays on Mitch, so it's also known as the "where's Kevin" video lol)

using a headphone instead of inears i think it wil make it even better. oh and here are some more songs to react to from them: can't hold us, happy now, blinding lights, sound of silence, little drummer boy, royals, radioactive, dreams, and many more of course because they are amazing. and maybe all their sing off song, so you now them a litte better

Hello beautiful human! Crash course for you: In the front row is Kevin as the Beatboxer; who is also a tenor. He can sing but his passion is beatboxing. Avi (pronounced Ah-vee) is/was the Bass until 2017. in the back row, Mitch is the High Tenor and the most acknowledged of his talent by many people. Scott is the Baritone who does most of the leads in the group and has great range to go from base to tenor and the girl is Kirstin or Kirstie, a Mezzo-Soprano who fits in nicely with both Scott & Mitch with their harmonies. All 3 of them know how to move from lead to background harmonization seamlessly with one another and that ability is what makes them such an elite group

Of the other "Evolution" videos, I recommend "Evolution of Music". It doesn't focus on an individual artist but genres of music starting 1400 to the 2010s. By the way, the reason why they only have a single woman in the group is because Mitch can easily sing high notes like another female singer. He was made fun of when he was in school because of his high voice- look where he is now!

This MJ is only their second Evolution), "Gold" (Mitch is spectacular in this one), "No" (very fun!). Sorry to keep throwing suggestions at you, but they have so many good ones!

You ain't seen nothing yet...you will probably keep saying this will be your favorite one after each reaction. Did you notice that in their transitions they never looked at each other and had perfect harmony even in changing keys. Since you are enthralled with Mitch, go to his live performance of "AHA, Singapore"; and then Kevin's solo performance of "Down". They are amazing group (maybe they originally came from Area 51 in New Mexico... second to none !!!!! SUPER REACTION...THANKS,

This is prob my evolution video just cause of it being MJ’s. All of them are phenomenal. Great reaction! And you do have a beautiful voice. I love singing and I’m good but I realized I don’t like performing... unless it’s drunk karaoke, in church or singing to a baby. Soo follow your dreams and do your thing! If you like Rihanna, you will LOVE the "Evolution of Rihanna" medley. It's amazing. Please react to it and to the mashup of "New Rules x Are You That Somebody". Umm... you mentioned how you forget the beatboxer’s name. You do remember the bass singer’s name, which you called him “Kevin.” Ironically, the beatboxer, who you mentioned you don’t know his name, is Kevin. The name you gave the bass singer. And the bass singer in this video is Avi

The video title needs some work: Michael, not Micheal. You never find a good pausing moment in PTX's evolution videos so I'd rewind 5 sec back (left arrow) after pausing so you can hear the pausing moment as a whole after you unpause. 7:20 that's Mitch for you. ;) But, you should learn their names if you claim to be a Pentaholic. Top row: Mitch, Scott and Kristin. Bottom row: Avi and Kevin. Evolutions of Rihanna and Ariana Grande, Matt takes Avi's spot. Check out their original "Run to You"
