The entire audience lost their collective minds when Mitch hit those notes on the Masked Singer. Then when they were unmasked Wednesday and did this as their encore, they freaked all the way out because they all thought it had to be "the girl" doing those notes. Watching a mass Mitch Slap was EPIC. They should have won it all, but it's a small studio audience that votes. Knew it was them from the first note out of Scott's mouth on their first performance :D

I love Pentatonix regardless of wether a song they’re doing is a cappella or not. I’m not an absolutest, except that I love everything PTX does.

This was a scaled down version from their performance on the Masked Singer, with instruments. But this is so incredibly phenomenal! Also, the Masked a singer released their live performance of this song, from the show last night, when they were voted off. Which is super sad. Was hoping they’d win!

Matt has been working on his low end. He's moved from baritone doing the upper end of bass, to a true bass. And the Mitch-slap was amazing. My husband hadn't heard them in a while, pretty much since Avi left, and he was into the Masked Singer performance. He asked me why I was so sure early on, and I went "That is Scott Hoyin on lead. No one sounds like him." That they never left Mitch loose said that someone knew that between Kevin's beatboxing and Mitch's pure high notes there would be no chance of not knowing who it was.

Loving this version! I feel like PTX has the right to explore any type of music performed in any way they choose - and I will follow them through anything they want to share with us:) Just my opinion.

I'm pretty sure Kevin was singing, not beatboxing during this song. I've just been ignoring the complainers/whiners. Love them, no matter what!

They definitely made this their own. Nobody complains when artists decide to do an Acapella song, instead of what they usually do, unless they sound terrible doing it.

This was the audio taken from the Masked Singer show, but then cleaned up by PTX's usual post production crew. The ending was changed a bit as well so you could hear that awesome rafters duet with Mitch and Kevin.

This is an exception cuz it was for the MASKED SINGER. For that matter they've earned their right to do an album with instruments. They could call it Pentatonix: Plugged in.

I think they use instruments truly in a background or enhancing way. The vocals are the most important part of the song. You don't get vocals and harmonies like this from anyone but PTX.

They are know as acapella group, but they had always mix things, with the Kevin cello, and in the last years they are using more instruments, of Kevin cello and more strings, they need to do new things, and explain different sounds, that's they way you keep on the top,

Pentatonix performed Break away from The Princess diaries soundtrack the night they were eliminated from The Masked singer which was a travesty. In my opinion, if they would have let Kirsten lead on the song they would have made it to the finale. This performance of Creep was untouchable on Masked singer though.

I previously stated that there are instruments or backing track, I was wrong. (I know right) There is a basic rhythm guitar and drum track. KO is good enough to get really close, but they’re using him to help in the high harmonies. They are just the best out there period.

They should not be called “cover”. It should be considered an “upgrade” of the original

No drums just KO. The cymbals he's done before. The only instruments are KO's cello or Scott playing piano. That's all.
