How great to get a PTX song that really features Kirstin and what she can do. And Mitch doubling on harmonies with her was just awesome. Those two operate almost like one voice sometimes.

I know it was an exception, but I think that only-audio music reactions are very interesting (because there isn't the distraction from the visual of the video), so maybe this could be a thing... especially for some amazing PTX songs that lacks official videos or good live videos :)

Whenever Pentatonix sings a song like this, they often sing a 9th chord at the end with Avi hitting a ledger-line pedal point. That 9th voicing creates a rich color because of the overtones created by Avi! Amazing!

Listening to this just makes me miss being a choir, instead of just teaching. All the moving parts, the key changes, suspensions, singing your part as a part of an ensemble. I have this album and the whole thing is amazing. There are a few songs that are so iconic that I'm almost afraid when another artist takes it on, such as Queen. Just being a kid of the '80s when music videos were coming out on MTV, Aha's Take on Me, was so revolutionary video wise and then there was the crazy high range. So when I bought the album and saw that Take on Me was on it, Mitch totally nailed it, much like Bohemian Rhapsody. However, they didn't do a video of it. I wouldn't suggest a reaction to it, unless you want, but you have to hear this arrangement. I did find live performances, I'll include both a live performance link and then the audio track. My Mum used to Sing this song, when I was feeling sad. My mum passed away many years ago, and this rendition brought back.many beautiful memories of her. I cried so hard, to the point of almost having a panic attack 😔 I miss my Mum so much. But ,I must give you guys so much credit for reacting to this. It was perfect. I understand videos sometimes add to the experience of enjoying a song. Pentatonix's Hallelujah is an example for me. But ultimately it's the voices (music) that bring the true joy. I only listen (watch) reaction videos to songs I like. Often when a video is involved I end up watching it and not the reaction (which is what I am really there for). Without the video in this song I was able to focus on these guys reactions and it was wonderful. And this song. Often rated as the most popular songs of all time. Covered by many, many artists. Sometimes badly. Many have sung it like a power ballad. Even though Pentatonix put their special "Pentatonix thing" on it, it was still spare and beautiful like the original. As shown by these guys, if sung well, this sung brings out an intense emotional response as expressed by these guys in their reaction. Mostly of longing. The song isn't the easiest song to sing. It moves a whole octave in the first word "Somewhere". And they put it on the shoulders of a 16 year old girl and she did it. I doubt I'll ever come across a version of this song that I love as much as that 16 year old girl's version but this comes close.

In Ep 8 of SINGER, before he went on stage, he heard that one of the lyricists of this song had passed away, so he gave up a love song he've already finished for stage and changed it into "Flammable and Explosive ""易燃易爆炸" in memory of the late lyricist. Sie performen dort Cracked, Evolution of Michael Jackson, Can't Sleep Love und Water. Auch wenn ihr zu dem Großteil noch nicht reagiert habt... die Performance dort ist einfach nur großartig.
