LEARN TO MAKE A WIRE TREE | WEEPING WILLOW | SINGHSWOOD

This video is a tutorial of how to make a wire tree. This art of wire tree making is very unique and special.
Till now I had made more than 500 wire trees and you can find them on www.singhswood.com.
This wire tree is made out of 100 meter Aluminium wire (1 mm thick). The roots of the wire tree can be seen distinctively.

Very nice and thanks for posting it. Is the wire you use a hardness "dead soft" for jewelry making or is it something else?

@@lonniec2116 Thank you for appreciating it. This is a normal aluminium wire which is 1mm thick. You can get it in an art and craft store. It is not too soft as the wire tree has to hold its shape. But it is easily bendable with hand.

I made one about 10 years ago, for a friend's wedding gift. Instead of the chains, I used several shades of green and yellow iridescent glass seed beads for the foliage. I formed the roots around a large conch shell. It was a lot of work, but the most time consuming part was planning out the design/shape.

Thats great. I can imagine that it might have been really beautifull with green and yellow shades. Yes you are right, the design part is time consuming. The tree should look beautiful from all the directions :)

Hi, lovely art! I like the idea. I have been making trees for many years. When I cut the wires, I either find a container the size of the length of the wire or I make a wide cardboard tube the length around of the wire I am going to use. Then I tape the beginning of the wire down to my container or tube and wrap the wire around the number of times I want to make, usually making a few extra.. Then I make one cut across all the wires at the place I started wrapping. This is much faster than cutting one by one. I hope this helps you create faster and more beauty! Thank you for sharing your art. I doubt I would use beaded material but this gave me good idea on how to make a better, less work willow tree for me. Mine were just wire before that I beaded. Lots of work that way.

These are fun to make. I eac youth groups to make them. I usually start with leaves on the individual branches and the combine them to make the trunk.
