We need rain ... for forest fires ... for farmers ... for health ... and for fun!
Rain is one of those gifts we often take for granted and sometimes grumble about but what if we reclaimed our childhood wonder and stepped out into the rain showers with tongues out to capture rain drops, heads thrown back to see the sky, a desire to simply let God's gift wash over us?
This weekend, if rain is in your forecast, have a bit of fun. Get wet. Go for a walk. Dig in the dirt and feel the richness of the soil being watered by God.
Go out and play and Give Thanks!

Water is sacred. There is a small river in the back of the property, today I took a chair and sat on the edge of the water, listening to the roar of the water rushing over the rocks. It was magical. I love living on waters edge, I could sit and stare all day, no matter if it's raining, hot, cold, snowing, flooding. It is life giving, soothing, wonderful. I hope your wildfires go out, that people are safe, that enough rain falls to feed the earth. Enjoy cleaning the camp!

I have always loved the rain, I am in awe of thunderstorms. Thunderstorms to me are like Gods fireworks, I enjoy watching them. As my children grew I shared with them the joy of playing in the rain and mud puddles. Growing up my sister's were afraid of thunderstorms and would come to me for comfort and protection. I did not want my children to fear them so I taught them about the storms and how to tell how far away they were. We had thunderstorm parties for a few years. We would count how far away they were as we celebrated with goodies they did not get very often. One day I received a call from a mom who asked "what the hell happens at your house". She went on to explain her son who would hide in his closet at the first crack of thunder now runs down the stairs and begs to go to my house. My children are now grown and share their love of storms with their children. I sit and watch God's fireworks and enjoy the comfort and break the storms bring as I reminisce of all the blessed joy they have brought me through my life ❤

During thunderstorms Dad used to tell me that it was merely God and the angels bowling. No need to be afraid. This was back in the early 60s. I had forgotten this lovely memory until I read your comment. Thank you. ❤️

Bishop Rachael, please pray for Gerry and me. He had a stroke and has a blocked carotid artery. He is in hospital.
