When I was in 5th grade, the middle school performing arts group came to our school to perform to us. The orchestra, band a choir really amazed me. The choir really impressed the most. Before 6th grade I signed up for the middle school choir. And it was the very first time I did choir in 6th grade. I’m a freshman in high school and been doing choir for about 4 years. ( I was 11 when I started lol). One of the best decisions I’ve ever made❤️🎶🎵☺️

My gosh! In justo loves the way you easily explained something what our director hasn't said during the 10 years I'm part of our vocal Group. I'll share this material to her and so she can send to the other members. We really need to be more concious of the GROUP and of the fact that we have all ONE purpose.

This video really helps me get ready for my senior year because I’m taking concert choir that year! So this helps me a lot that it’s teaching me things that I don’t know yet and now I know so I’m ready! I’m inspired by lots of Singers like Justin Bieber, Usher, Ne-Yo, and Chris Brown etc… so I’m really happy to take that class and get my voice so I can start my music career!

CHOIR - 🌊 you sing together as one voice that shines 🌊 you are directed by the instructor when to breathe 🌊 the expressions, body language and voice during the choir is done by the directed 🌊you cant really use vibrato (can change pitches) as you are trying to be one voice in the choir SOLO SINGING - 🌊your individual voice shines 🌊you direct when you breathe and control the way you want to sing it 🌊 you get to choose the expressions, body language and voice during your singing 🌊you can use vibrato, etc, to make your voice shine

I'm afraid that if I join a choir my individually and the uniqueness in my voice will go away :// I feel like blending will make m sound like everyone else and I'll lose my uniqueness in the long term
@TamaraNozik

In a choir you are required to have a neutral sound so you can blend with your peers. You can work however in having a neutral sound vs. More unique. It’s a personal choice if you are interested tho!

@@TamaraNozik but I'm still confused. I don't mind joining th choir provided it makes me better at singing and still maintains my uniqueness outside of it or like in a solo.

Being in a choir can really help improve skills such as pitch, breathing and harmony work. Honestly it’s a great way of improving the voice and making music together. I highly suggest if you are thinking about it.

In choir they will teach you the simple tricks and tips for your voice if your voice sounds weird, don't worry you just gotta practice more but when going on you can use your own voice so you don't have to sound too elegant but more like yourself in auditions tho you should try the required voice

I really wish I could find a video where choir singers tell of their experience singing in a choir, or just a video on the hours of practice, the different voices practicing alone and then together, the choir uniforms, walking onto the stage, standing straight up and in a half circle. Not to breathe through your shoulders but through your belly, how to use your diafragm (muscle that controls breathing just above your belly and just beneath your rib cage). How to follow the instructions of the conductor. All of that. Is no one serious about real choirs anymore?

I can pass solo but can’t pass choir lol That said just definitely try to understand what they’re looking for - choral works requires you to work together and sight read. You don’t need as much musicianship (not that you don’t need it) since the conductor will guide you. Solo you have more control to show case your strengths more emphasis on musicianship

Hi there, thank you for this helpfull content. Is it possible to sing a straight tone in a healthy way? :) I´m struggling in a choir because it sores me a bit out... i really like to sing as a solo performer. (High Baritone, most likely put into the tenors by the instructor)
@TamaraNozik
@TamaraNozik 2 жыл бұрын
Hello! Actually when I made this video I wasn't sure if it was too rough. Glad it was helpful! Yes, you can defiantly sing straight tone in a healthy way - I think be just wary of the amount of force you are putting behind the sound. It might be worth taking time in rehearsals to think about what is making your voice sore. Is it length of rehearsal? Is it trying to be louder than you would as a soloist? Is it the range you are being expected to sing?? That's awesome you like to sing solo!! I love choir and solo!

Why can I sing alone or while I play guitar, but when I'm at church singing hymns with the rest of the congregation I can't find where I need to be? It feels either too high or too low. I hope someone can help answer this.

I think it depends if you have someone to teach vs teaching yourself because someone teaching you the techniques how to sing by a conductor/instructor is actually a big difference and can really help
